Whats Happening with Carey Price

I tend to believe that Canadian players that play for any Canadian country gets more pressure from the fans, the media BIG TIME, and they cave once in a while. Price is still very young and still has the potential. Does he need to mature more, yes he does. Is he great, no. He is good. Halak is a goalie who can play a full hockey season and be consistant. He did it in the AHL leading Hamilton to the playoffs until they put Price in the playoffs and he became the hero. Having 2 good goalies on your team is not a problem if you manage the right way (i.e Boston)

Jeez, 10 bad games after an injury and everyone forgets the World Jr. Gold, the AHL Championship, the Eastern Conference title, and All-Star numbers up until the All-Star break... and he's still only 21.

Who are you guys itching to crucify next?

i would say most of you guys are right
and look at fleury he was in the slump for a couple seasons
now hes a GREAT goalie i think Price will get back to his game
Next year .

Ummm, did I read this right, Fleury's a great goalie, I don't think so.

Yeah I was gonna say it to, Fleury is not a great goalie, I dont know where this guy got that from

A terrible goalie that pretty much every team in the league would love to have. Won a couple playoff series last year with his play alone. Yes he is a victim of the hype machine being a #1 overall pick, but 100 regular season Wins and 15 playoff wins by the age of 23/24 ain't too bad in my books. Kinda looks like he is living up too the hype.......

FLEURY > PRICE

How quickly people tend to forget. Price has more than proven himself. If there's an injury or a rushed return that's setting him back then that's one thing. But he's definitely shown himself capable to be in the Top 5 of the league. The Lundqvist example was a good one. I remember wondering what the heck happened to him, but sure enough he's the top calibre goaltender as expected.

I just think the weight if Roy,Dryden etc is getting to him some every mistake he makes is magnified 10x so hes paranoid

No offence, but since Fleury has been in the NHL, he has been the most inconsistent starting goalie. Great potential, however never really reached it. Sorry but thats kinda the facts

Well from my standpoint,I never thought he was a dryden,Roy kinda deal but I thought he was good. Now maybe the habs fans are going to explode or w/e but realisticly I think he needs maturing time to get where he needs to be.Or he may never get there(steve penny rings a bell too like someone else said)No one knows the future,he just may burn out.Or he may mature into a good enough goaltender and flourish.
But for anyone to say he is the best or is the worst, those are simply put, outlandish statements to make unless you can see into the future.I think the kid has potential to be good but then again montreal has 2 potentially good or great goaltenders so really it's not so bad.Besides how many teams are lucky enough to have 2 good choices in net?Not all that many.
Here's to hoping he gets used to playing in montreals media spotlight and fanbase.

Non taken he has been very inconsistent for a lot of his career. However Penguins management could be to blame for a lot of that. This is the first year with a goalie coach and only his 3rd year as a full time starter so much back and forth from the minors. Also the teams that played in front of him from 03/06 were absolutely horrible. Potential is still there for sure and his play has become much more consistent in the last season and a half.

However back on topic. Carey Price will be just fine, it does remind me of what was happening with Fleury a bit. It just takes a little of time for these young guys to get there mental game to the NHL level. We know he has got the physical talent but the mental game is big too, especially when your playing in Montreal.

Whats Happening with Carey Price?

Montreal should ship him out, if they want to go somewhere. Carey is costing them games, this guy is over-rated imo. The excuses for him are lame, there are a lot more goalies out there that are way better.

Let us keep in mind he is very young and can be developed, unlike a 30 year old veteran.

I think he will be fine he just needs some of his MOJO back, problem is Habs don't have the time right now for him to figure it out, all we need is one of 2 to step up, right now we need points period !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm more of a Halak fan then Price, but lets not get carried away, I think there is no way of telling at this point, the bottom line is he has done more good then bad at this point. I just think Halak will be better, jmo, and I could be wrong, but to say ship him out is way to premature. That seems to be a "hater" comment" to me

Habs fans are already done with Latendresse, and Carbo & Gainey are currently being fitted.
