ITG Canadiana

I got the email that Canadiana was delayed to avoid placing a redemption in the product. I would have been fine with this redemption as I think Canada Day was the perfect day to release this product.

However, I'm cool with waiting. I figure if ITG has to do a redemption they will do a better job handling them then UD or Panini has for me.

Looking forward to it launching.

I wonder who is the signer they are waiting for?

It starts with one Redemption Card and then you do more and more. Slippery slope that I did not want to go down.

I wanted to wait and reward our Customers with an extra insert for their patience.

Dr Price, Slippery Slope.. Yes!

But Immense respect for you and your high standards, communication and outright concern. Although I have grown numb of other manufacturers inserting redeemers and delays, I will never grow tired of what you have done and will do! Thank you!

Brian, I'm being thick here...it says "one auto and one mem card per pack". I thought this was a 18/24 pack box? Did I miss what the box/pack configuration would be? Any idea on the new release date?

Ryan, your thoughts were the same as mine until I read otherwise just the other day....I could swear this product was originally sold as a multi-pack(18 or 24) release...same could be said for decades...

not ranting, decades worked out fine and was a winner in my books....however with the lack of base set in two releases I've been looking very much forward too now...I don't know...seems Panini has been getting more money out of me then ITG has this year....and I never thought I'd be saying that...

Geoff,

I was also thinking of a different configuration, but that said, a more concentrated configuration doesn't mean no base set. There is a base set (and parallels) listed in the checklist. I'm assuming this just means a pack with auto, mem and 3-5 base, so there's still a set to chase, and it will actually be more of a challenge - I'll be building the base set guaranteed.

Not sure where anyone got the idea that there were 18-24 packs per box.

There is a 100-card base set.

Collectors wanted guaranteed hit in each box and hand-packing the boxes is the way to make sure the hits are guaranteed.

Because of the delay, I have added another hit to each box.

That's True, I'm old school and enjoy putting base set together still...but I don't want to spend alot of money tracking them all down. It's nice when you can bust a few boxes, get some hits and finish the base set.

We'll see, Michael J. Fox auto for sure....but how much more then that I don't know now...

It's not like ITG ever had a problem with missing hits before...I'd rather have the 18 pack format like BTP and H+P with a larger base set then have ITG guarantee my hits. It's more fun that way , more like what collecting should be.

I can see boths sides to this, however It feels more and more like ITG is switching to the gamble and away from true collecting in my eyes...

High end products based on hits have a place in this hobby, however I feel ITG is putting a few to many eggs in one basket this year with all these one pack wonder products...

Maybe it's just me...only my opinion after all...
