Ask Panini (non-redemption related questions)

I'll be interviewing for the bouncer position.

Where do I send my resume?

I'm sure you are probably tired of the 10/11 Crown Royale questions from me, but this master set project is a tough one with all the non-produced cards, SSP patches, etc. Hopefully this will be my last info request, and thanks for your time as always.

LEGENDS PATCH SET - I know the Brodeur is /2, are any of the other patch versions shorter printed then the stated /10, and were any of the patch cards from that set not made? I know the Selanne JERSEY was not made, but does he have a patch version?

LANCERS PATCH SET - I know the Richards, Jokinen, Fleischmann, and Selanne patch cards were not made. I did find a Selanne Prime Jersey though that I am putting into our set to fill the hole, so do Richards, Jokinen, or Fleischmann have a Prime Jersey card, or was it only Selanne?

LOYALY PATCH SET - We know Markov and Nash were pulled from production. We have found every other patch card for our set but still have yet to see a Holmstrom. I believe you told me it was indeed made, but to this day not 1 has shown up on EBAY; I have been asking here, SCF, CNC, Blowout, and any other forum I can find and no can even produce a scan of the actual card. Can you please double check with your team to ensure the card was indeed made and inserted into packs? It is just so odd that at any time I can find multiples of pretty much every other patch card from that set, but no one has seen a Holmstrom.

If you want to answer here or by PM we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks!!!!

I am curious about your memorabilia supply. Are there any staple players that you are running short of jerseys for? Seeing the post above about players being pulled from patch sets and others being short-printed made me curious.

Will you be producing more fans of the game cards? Could you take them a step further with fans of the player?

If so can I suggest Qunicy for Joe Sakic? Just a pic of him staring through a bathroom window at Joes house would suffice ;-)

They would have a hard time finding a printer that can handle all the colors in his shirts ;)

As a sharks collector I'm wondering

1) Any plans to include any retired sharks players pictured in sharks uniforms in any autograph sets?

2) Were these cards actually packed out -- as I have not see even one copy of either the Andrew Desjardins or Brandon Mashinter Zenith RC auto parallels only included in the "dare to tear" cards?

Are there any SPs or SSPs in the Yours Truly autos and if so who are they and how many of each are there?

I believe Clint posted in another thread that Mike Richards was a SP, not sure on the number, and Patrick Kane is an SSP /25. Don't remember if he listed any others, I just remember those two right now.

Clint didnt say these players specifically in another post, but he did say there were a bunch of regular rookies(i asked about matt calvert who also did not have one because he didnt return his stuff in time) who did not have the auto rookies in the dare to tare cards even though they were suppose to

Kari Lehtonen
Jonas Gustavsson
Jamie Benn
Evander Kane

Johnny Bower

SSPs
Zach Parise

Stan Mikita
Patrick Kane
Evgeni Malkin
Anze Kopitar
Alexandre Burrows
John Tavares
Matt Moulson

Wow, this might be more work that I thought. Let's see:

3.) Pronger packed out, he's a SSP at only 49.

Thanks Clint, I have finally found one. Just need to win it now. Not sure if you can divulge the numbers, but what are the other SP's and SSP's from the Private Signings set? And will there be any chary SSP's upcoming in Dominion? Thanks in advance.

Any plan on trying to sign Paul Kariya? I believe he never signed anything that wasn't NHLPA (meaning BAP only...), but now that he officially retired, maybe he would be more open to it? (Although I have no idea why he never signed...)

Any chance of seeing Stephane Richer memorabilia or autographs in Panini products...especially in the 50 goal scoring subsets (Nifty Fifty comes to mind).

love the draft tandems set - any idea of expanding that or bringing it back?

also would love to see more ex-canucks in legends and retired sets

and MORE die-cut inserts please!!!

amen

What are the odds that we see some skate cards this year? So far we've seen sticks, pucks, we've seen tape is on the way.

Also what about helmet's and glove's?

I'm pushing for it, tougher stuff to come by and you get a lot less out of gloves or skates. Stay tuned.

I'm wondering when (which product) will the traded players be in their new uniforms: ie Richards with the Kings, Heatley with Minny.

Thanks

Pierre

Some will be in Score.

The Golden Ticket was a nice idea...but I'd LOVE to see the return of Precious Metals. Heck, I'd love to see a whole SET done in that manner - but those remain some of the best inserts ever. Any thoughts? And yes, well aware that the price of gold is somewhere north of 3-4 times what it was in 98.

Hmm.., we'll see.

How many sets will be returning next year as opposed to having a new set name coming out instead?

Still a moving target, you'll see Score, Certified and Limited for sure.

Will Sidney Crosby have live autographs in Dominion Hockey?

Up to him.

Will you be producing more fans of the game cards? Could you take them a step further with fans of the player?

Yes., on the first part.

Next question -- any plans for Voices of the Game dual auto cards? That way, you could get both members of a broadcast team on the same card -- say, Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson, Mike Emrick and Ed Olczyk, Dave Mishkin and Phil Esposito. ;)

I'll pass that along, good idea!

Where do I send my resume?

Modano Legends patch not made. Selanne Legends patch was made.

Fleischmann, Jokinen, Nash and Richards were pulled from Lancers Prime.

Holmstrom was packed out in Loyalty patches.

1.) Depends on who we can get deals with.

2.) Not in packs.

Working on his agent.

No deal with him so far.

Yes.

Since Jagr is back in the NHL , will he have more cards?

Yes.

1) how does one get a career with a card company? what steps can one take? and is it very tough to get into the business?

2) is there any chance i will ever see Dan Cloutier cards made again? maybe in some sets with retired plaayers and such, he still had a solid bunch of collectors, but we never see cards made anymore. its understandable why, but i would love to be able to collect new stuff.

I appreciate the info, were any of the other Legends Patches shorter print then the stated /10 like the Brodeur which is /2? Thanks

Panini seems to exclusively use serial numbering on the backs of cards. While that can keep card fronts uncluttered, it's also sometimes a good thing to see the numbering easily (for example, in a scan online) -- especially when it is a high profile set. In particular, I'll ask -- are the Dominion RCs going to be serial numbered on the front?

We normally send the guys a couple of extra samples for themselves.

This bring's up something from Pinnacle's days.

I came across a Selanne from 97-98 Canadian Ice (a set, BTW, that should be brought back, just saying) that was marked "Player's Club" in gold foil on the back. As I recall from a conversation way back when, those cards were made especially for the players - they either got full sets or a bunch of copies of their own cards.

Do the copies you mention above get a special marking on them, as they did back in the "old days"?

Just Brodeur.

Haven't seen the stamped cards yet but I'd assume they are on the back.

If the player requests cards or we send "extras" we stamp them with "Sample" or something to that effect.
