Jonathan, I think you need to break this line out a bit better. Are you referring to overall impact to the game's history, or just symbolic of the way the game should be played?

I think this is why you're getting answers from a couple different angles. Personally, if you're looking for people of impact, that's where you try to add the Ted Lindsays and Willie O'Rees of the world (which is how I understood your question.)

If you're looking for best players though...then I think you've been given enough to go on already

I purposely left that line vague so the points of view would roll in. I'm biased -- wrought with my own interpretation and opinion of that line and this list, so I wanted many different points of view. Thanks for the input guys. I'm still working on my list and my eyes have definately opened up with spots for new people -- I may have to narrow it down to 15-20
