2017-18 - SP Authentic preview

I'm unsure about the FWA design, well, really just the weird RPM/energy/power meter thingy on the right side of the card. They are mockups though and usually look better in production.

FWA Patch looks great. Similar to last year but a cleaner design and I can't see the power meter as well.
Unsigned patch cards limited to 10? unsure about that, I think a 25 count would have been better.

Limited Autos look great!

And the hook to reel in everybody, McDavid buyback autos. Its great they put it in, but bad for me because I wanted SPA boxes to stay at a stable price instead of rocketing up due to demand.

I like the addition of the McDavid /97 but to me that's not really a suitable replacement of /999 x2 autos and /100 patch autos x2 of the #1 and #2 picks.

I wouldn't disagree, the McDavid's would most certainly be worth more than either FWA. However, they're significantly reducing the number of hits in the set by losing a couple thousand autos and replacing them with 97, that's what I was trying to say.

Looks like Ovi signed his SPA Patches at the All-Star weekend. I think that is the Limited Auto Patch for SPA, but hard to tell.

The McDavid autos buybacks should all be redemptions.. I hate to see them insert the card in a penny sleeve and then insert them in packs... Ive seen it and can see now that any loose packs at the lcs will be searched if there are crooked lcs owners trying for the big hit

Also I think you guys failed at this years spa... with all the expired redemptions and hard to get redemptions from previous years you could've double dipped like you guys always do and insert them in this years set
think about it you knew that the top 2 picks were unavailable for auto and redemptions like leino, czikas, mackinnon, Duchene, barker,tarasenko and tons others and even recent ones like Matthews cause who you kidding you know youre sitting on at least a hundred if not more ... you could've easily made this the set of the year without the use of a McDavid yg buyback auto
Its a staple set that a lot of collectors build and some would like to complete previous years set

Hard to say without seeing a checklist no?

I suggest putting your pitchfork down until we get an official checklist. Could be a great veteran auto list, it might not be, but who knows other than UD right now?

Likely just for Patrick and Hichier. No autos for those guys so UD had to try and add value to them somehow. There's going to be more than a few set collectors emptying their wallets over those two.

That's good, I looked more closely, and they won't do that parallel for the full set, only for a few players, that makes more sense.

It's sad that the SOTT are gone They made them for nearly 20 years, and the ones with multiple autos were special.
