A bit disappointed with this :/

The Big hits are super cool, autos are awesome, base/parallels look amazing but idk everything seems impossible to pull. All of the boxes Ive seen opened nothing great comes out lol. It seems everyone just pulls 2 #d cards #d > 50. A majority of card collectors know the deal when it comes to breaking you wont make money 99% on what you open, which is fine but I like walking away with feeling like I got something that is remotely cool

I see what they were going for with 2 cards per pack for throwback purposes but obvious ways to pack search, damage control etc.

I love the look of the base cards. I might pick a pack for fun, but I won’t touch boxes, I don’t feel that they offer a good value.
I will look into trading for a few base cards, I want to see them in hands.

I did a post in show and tell. Busted a couple boxes. In my opinion the price is way to high for what you get and several of the cards in these boxes had big time foil damage with lots of chipping. The base insert sets are just filler and a waste. With an average of four autos a case I lucked out and hit one but it was not an autographics, which I was hoping to hit but an autographed insert of a player no one of the people I know would even think about collecting.

Boxes at $150 could be an interesting break but at $225 not worth the risk but then nobody twisted my arm to buy these boxes. I guess I expected more from the product.

I think the price point is a bit high. The product is definitely going off nostalgia as 20+ years ago it was in a product that cost a few dollars, and more recently inserted in other products, lastly in 2016-17 (Showcase). The difference of the most recent is high school through college and into establishing a career, which, in turn, means more income. That is what they hit on directly. If they really wanted nostalgia, they would have inserted some of the stars of yesteryear and peppered them as bonus unannounced hits! Who wouldn’t want a fan favorite or HOF auto peppered SSP?

For moving forward, price should drop. It will be one of those products that will be collected but will get a resurgence as set builders try to find the rare cards. It will be like an older Pacific set that has those hard to build sets or maybe like Brownbull’s Parkhurst master set.

Just my opinion. Still haven’t gotten a box, but locally, they are about $230 US. Definitely think they would be a better buy closer to $150.

Never know, they could be like 19-20 Stature. Came out around $160-180 US, dropped to $130 before becoming the “Darling of Covid breaks” and jumping to over $300. Had a great RC class to do it with, so that helped. Beautiful card sets.

I agree with you, some cards of retired legends would have been sweet. I know that I would chase a Roy base card in Montréal colors. It would have been sweet to see Lemieux, Gretzky, Bourque, Jagr, CuJo and many others from that era. There was a legends subset in Synergy and it was one of my favorite parts of the product, maybe they will come with something similar in a second edition of EX 2000.

It is a great looking product, but it is way overpriced. I don’t plan on opening any unless the price goes down. I can justify buying one with so little in return. If there were more cards for the price, it might be worth it. Also to take in effect the price is inflated due to the Bedard tax. If it came out for 2024-25, it probably would be priced in the $150 area.

My question and Upper Deck couldn't or wouldn't answer is where are the Autographics Connor Bedard autos? I have watched eBay, Facebook and three hobby boards and I have yet to see a single Bedard auto? While this product may be lightly broken because of all the damage you get in a box, if Bedard is actually in hobby boxes, I would have thought at least one would have shown up somewhere!

I love the look of the product and I actually was a sucker and brought enough boxes to put the set together. And one of the reasons I did this was in hopes of pulling the Bedard Autographics auto. When I contacted UD to ask if he was packed out in the hobby boxes customer service at Upper Deck QA, couldn't give me an answer.

Bummer for sure.

Im sure they are in there, he's probably an SSSP

Even then you're right you think at least ONE would have surfaced given products are broken a ton when they come out
