Absolutely disgusting Upper Deck Replacements! Connor Disappointment.

I was always told that "a card is worth, what someone is willing to pay" I think you have every right to be disappointed. I wish you the best of luck

I don't have the scans with me right now but I guess I will be getting the damaged one back. Once I get it, I will attach the scan. I tried telling them 100 times Beckett is useless and a card is worth what it sells for. They clearly don't care about that. Thanks for all the input and its farewell to UD.
Mike

This is why I don't buy upperdeck products anymore. Out of the 10ish people I have had contact with there(over 1 issue), I am sure they all shared the same, single brain cell. They were all about as useful as a fart in a space suit.

I hope it works out for you.

I am sorry for your not being satisfied, but really what else does a manufacturer have to go by other than BV in beckett. That is supposed to be the Hobby bible isnt it? So antiquated or not , put yourself in the manufacturers shoes. Sadly this is a great representation of you just cant please everyone.

I give UD customer service an A for effort for at least attempting to "make you whole"!

Im really not seeing any "effort" here by upper deck.

IMO, that's the gamble you take opening wax - some cards are mint others not. Expecting UD to swap a nr/mt for a mint issue is not something they should be doing. If the card had major production issues then that's a different story...
agree with this.

Lets not be unfair. they sent him out a replacement, then when that was not accepted they sent out another one... and now that those two don't cut it they gave an option of keeping what he has or get back what he originally sent in back, and so he is getting the first one back. that is a ton of effort. just because the result is not what you want does not mean they did not try.

Sean.

Justified saleswise. But I believe UD goes by "BV" and not "SV" do they
not?Correct me if I'm wrong.

I had an issue with 1/1 plates not being 1/1's and when i asked them they offered me around 60 bv for each one as thats what they believed them to be worth. Nevermind the fact that a simple search would find that I paid over $100 for each of them. They wouldn't budge on what they felt they "booked" at. When will people learn that Beckett is nothing more than really bad toilet paper?

Ud is as useful as watching paint dry,,,,,, besides Randy, there customer service absolutely sucks when it comes to replacements

Hire some hockey knowledge people who know the values of players and to keep customers happy,

Yes please give some players you collect or what team you like or collect... is probably written on a manual for their employees to read.....
I'm sorry we can not give you an email or phone number to our redemption / replacement centre

Its all caca....... Id be extrememly pissed off if I was mike... spa future watch auto is a highly collected rookie and with the value of this card is crazy
they send him 2 cards to equal the value of one. screw that next time ask for Jordan in bulls uniform ,rare gretzky ,rare LeBron it should be a one for one swap if they cant replace the card

Its sad really , There only contract with any major sport and they cant hire hockey knowledgeable people..... Id be surprised if most of their staff know who McDavid is

I would be disappointed too. Not because of the value you got back, but the fact that the future watch auto is more desirable now, and will be even more so in the future. Sucks they couldn't provide you with another FWA in better conditions.

That's why I always hope they send me the same card for any damage replacement.

Add me to the list of guys that won't buy UD product and is therefore out of the hobby until things change

The original card I pulled had surface damage, and damaged edge. The one they sent me as a replacement had a dinged corner which was very noticeable. I made my decision and decided to send back the two cards and get the future watch back. They claim the card will grade at least an 8.5 but of course they won't put pen to paper on that. I'll throw up a scan once I get it back.

Did you know UD replaces cards based on BV when you sent it in? Theres only such much they can do in this situation. You wanted a perfect card it appears; something you aren't entitled to. hard signed cards come damaged, always have always will.

It would seem more logical to agree on a suitable replacement rather then sending two random cards. Imagine if someone damaged your card by dropping it or spilling something on it and they're like here I got 40 skids of ProSet. Same BV bro.

UD agreed the card is damaged by offering a replacement so it's no longer a favor. If it was a favor he would have got his original card back as well. With all the tech in the world your telling me a phone call or email is too much of a hassle to agree on a suitable replacement. The OP bought SP Authentic the replacement shouln't be ANYTHING else without his/her consent. It's a violation of a fellow collectors rights and I'm deeply concerned if this doesn't get resolved properly cause next time it could be one of us.

I had a damaged Future Watch a few months ago ........I had to pretty much barter with them for 3 months to get another Future Watch from them ....same situation mine was mangled at the bottom from being cut ....

This is going to be interesting while not a damaged card, I am at a point where after 58 years of collecting I am about ready to leave the hobby, so this morning I sent a request to exchange out 8 old redemption cards that I got tired of waiting on. Crosby, Larkin a couple Premier RPAs and a couple FWA autos

One of the card is a Mikko Ultimate auto patch numbered to 10 No book value on that card since it is my understanding that Beckett does not price cards numbered less than 25. I asked UD to email or call me with the value they are placing on the card.

Anyone care to guess if they will call?

At least someday I can mark off these 8 cards from my redemption list.

Good luck on getting the Future Watch McDavid back.

EDIT:

Upper Deck sent me an email that they would value the Mikko auto patch from $80. to $100 in value. Hats off to UD for letting me know what they consider the value. Have to give them credit for that!
