Hey all, I wanted to start a collection thread that I can update as my journey through the hobby continues. I started collecting hockey when I came home to Canada during the pandemic and it's been a whirlwind since. I've almost completely shifted my focus from my old hobbies to hockey cards and I'm incredibly happy I did. I've never been more happy doing a hobby and it's been a real pleasure to get to know some of you on here and elsewhere. The hockey community's great and I'm glad to be a part of it.

One of my favourites growing up was Nicklas Lidstrom and so when Hedman came onto the scene I followed their career with interest. The pandemic afforded me some time to watch Hedman in the playoffs last year and it was a treat to watch his Conn Smythe run.

Today, I'll just be showing my Hedman PC as it's the one I feel is closest to completion. I'd love to find a HG Young Gun one day and maybe add a shield or two but those would just be finishing touches on this. Anyways, that's a lot of text, enjoy the pictures below!

P.S. A very, very special shoutout to the HI member who helped me out with my Hedman Gold Cup RPA /77. I'm not sure if I should shout him out by name or not so I'll err on the side of caution, however it's something I'm incredibly thankful for. A million thanks!

Nice PC. Love the FWAP & ICE patch cards.

Thank you! Very happy with the patches on them!

Nice Victors

Now this is solid. Love the Ice Premieres Auto Patch /10. The designs were incredible :D

Best of luck tracking down a High Gloss Young Guns!

Thanks man! Yeah, the Ice /10s consistently have some of my favourite designs, they look so much better in person I've found. Thanks! I saw one pop up during the playoffs but had to make some decisions so it escaped me, hopefully another one shows up some day!

Yeesh, that's some absolute heat for just getting into the hobby during the pandemic. Heck of a start and welcome to the hobby!

Hey all! It's been a bit more than a year since I last updated this thread. I keep wanting to update this thread but I either forget or put it off but not today! Had some free time and I've been having fun playing around with Google photos.

Collecting journey update: My Hedman PC was why I started collecting again in the first place and I'm more than content with where each collection is at. I've since moved on to collecting various rookie autos but that part of my collection is constantly in flux but I do think I've started to zero in on exactly what I want my collection to look like in the future. Once I've gotten that down better I'll post some photos of them too!

Thanks to all the collectors who've helped me put these collections together. Truly enjoyed my time back in the hobby and I've met many great and amazing people. If anyone is in search of a good hockey cards discord, send me a PM! I'm part of one of the best ones out there. Cheers to you all!

Oh my....they're all sooooo spectacular! Love the Ice Premieres especially, rarely ever see star players from past years.

Thank you! The Ice RPAs are beautiful, definitely some of the nicest looking cards in the hobby.

Absolutely incredible cards! I gotta say, my favourites are the ice premieres auto patches. One of my most favorite designs.

Thanks! Same here, Ice RPAs are consistently some of the nicest looking cards and I love the uniqueness of them to hockey. No other major sport can do ice cards haha.

That Ice Premiere's is a beauty!

Thanks! Knew you'd like them haha, really gorgeous cards

Been a bit since I updated this! I made a nice local deal today for some great cards so I figured I'd take the time and give this a quick update.

Besides my Hedman and rookie auto PCs, I've been working on a small NHL 100 collection using autographs from Legends Masterpieces Brushstrokes and Chronology Franchise History. I made the decision to move my Erik Karlsson collection as well as most of my FWAs/RPAs/YGs to consolidate but also to have a more focused collecting approach. I wanted my collection to have a balance of legends with modern players and this is the mix I found that works for me.

Anyways, today I picked up the Messier, Niedermayer, Chelios, and Trottier so I wanted to share the NHL 100 collection so far. Taking my time and just picking up cards here and there whenever I find them but I really love the look of these. With the prices of rookie cards where they're at I've been having a lot more fun and enjoyment saving up for nice legends cards when I can.

Thanks for looking!
