Late entry but I would say the 92-93 UD series 2 WJC set. Many RC cards from 1st rounders that include Kariya, Daigle, Pronger, Koivu, to name a few, but seriously a loaded WJC class. Other classes in other years aren’t as loaded.

Nobody put in anything for Topps? Mystery Refractors? Those pesky OPC variants? Early 2000’s Heritage Auto’s?
Topps had some nice stuff floating around for a bit…golds and black golds.

Pacific was hard to collect since odds were so long for some of the bigger hits, but retail foil has been the one to make an impact as being hard to find.

In my research, I discovered that there were two copies of the Pavel Datsyuk Young Guns from 2001/02. Wild! Was one more desirable over the other?

And on another note…..how hyped of a player was Brett Lindros back in the day? Was there a card of his that was the “must have” for a short period of time?

Hobby and retail YGs were different that year.

Also, you probably never heard about it, but there was a Spezza 2001-02 YG. A super rare error card that wasn't supposed to exist. A few others were made too, I saw a list but I'm not sure of how reliable it is.

I think that the first edition of Private Stock was in 00-01.

That's correct, and I think the Vezina mem cards were also 2000-01. But as a topic that's a great mention, because there was fairly much discussion whether old Vezina pads should be cut up or not.

Yep, you're both correct. It's been a while since I'd even looked at those cards, let alone thought about them.

Iconic set for sure. I owned one for a very brief amount of time, but it was a cool hobby moment for me. Had to take pics while I could:

Incredible card. Junk Wax era for sure. LOL.

It's cool to see a card like that get released in an era of oversaturation. I remember the debate (should the pads be cut up) quite well.

A landmark piece of cardboard in this hobby that makes the story of hockey cards so enjoyable.
