Carbonneau Fired!!

Oh great, now they'll go on a "new coach" run and make the playoffs and my Canes will be out!!

My thoughts exactly.

Carbo wasn't the problem. The complete lack of effort by every player on the team was the problem. This years edition seems to play like it's their birthright that the Cup ends up in Montreal this season. Maybe if some of the so-called "leaders" of the team would actually lead by example, they wouldn't have been in this mess.
 
Stunning. I thought he saved his own bacon last night with that win, but I guess the previous two games, and much of February, did him in.
 
i love how in todays sports everything must be instant (actually i hate it) .. most pointedly success. the minute a team is tanking, someone must be fired and/or blamed. what ever happened to letting the team bring themselves out of the hole they got themselves into ..... together.
 
He doesnt improve the team at the deadline. Then he fires the coach who has got them in playoff poistion with all the injuries.Its time for Gainey to go.This will bite them in the *** just like when they fired claude Julien.
 
There's a reason the team wasn't playing for Carbonneau, they don't like him. Carbonneau didn't do one thing all season to prove that he could coach this team to the Finals.

I've been waiting for this since he was hired.
 
Kudos to Gainey for putting his own tail on the line. At least he doesnt sit up in the GM office out of sight while his coach takes all the blame. (ie. Sather)
If this doesnt work, there's no excuses left. Lets see if he can make any difference behind the bench.

You mean putting Kostopoulos, Lapierre and Begin out in an offensive zone faceoff with 90 seconds to go and down by 1 goal wasn't enough proof!?

Carbo was clueless.

The only way the Habs would get better this instant is if they had dumped Kovalev and Koivu at the trade deadline and sent Price back to the minors. If the team had stopped listening to Carbo, then so be it, but the team leaders should be held accountable too. On too many nights this season, this team has been an embarassment to the logo on the chest.

Hopefully this ends up being the kick in the pants that the team needs, but somehow, I doubt it.
 
I am not a Mcguire fan. But he just hit the nail on the head. A good coach just got fired because of a bad gm
 
All I hope is Carey Price wins a few more, so I can sell some of his cards. I heavily invested in him, and his stock seems to be dropping quicker than the Dow Jones!
