No, you are still missing the point. You only made yourself look 'silly' in front of a handful of board members on an insignificant internet site (in the whole scope of things - Bruce, you have a great site), while Carcillo made himself look silly on a televised, planned, press conference. That's the difference, and the point of the original post.

If you (and by 'you' I mean no specific person) are going to slam someone, you should at least get your facts straight.

I actually don't know if the media there corrected him or not, but, if they didn't, they should also read a paper.
 
Well I do feel silly now, not knowing how 2 4th liners of a team I don't follow left. Boy is my face red. I bet Carcillo is feeling even worse, at home crying his eyes out not knowing the full roster (AHL included) of every single team in the league. He is a truly terrible person.

Randy, Aside from Carcillo who looks silly all the time, you can't really think anyone is silly for not knowing what happened to Tanner Glass or any other "non-factor" type player. Outside of Vancouver, being totally honest here, do you think anyone really cares how or why Tanner Glass changed teams aside from maybe his family? You can't really expect people to know the ins and outs of every single player move right? We are not paid employees of some organization that's job is to know every single NHL players contract status.

Am I really backing up a Flyer fan, ugh, what has the world come to? :devil:

you are both missing the POINT that randy is trying to make.

if a person, especially in front of the media, is gonna try and insult, slam, or talk trash about someone else, they SHOULD get their facts straight, or they will look like a complete moron. that is all randy is saying.
 
From what i read, all he said was that he wanted a chance to play Vancouver and that certain players on the team played "outside their shoes", he didn't initiate naming specific players. Then a reporter asked him to name players specifically. Since he didn't have a roster sheet on hand, he did his best to remember certain players he had seen play on the team. It's not like he came to the meeting prepare with a hit list and the player's teams. Guess next time a media reporter goes digging for dirt and asks a player to talk about any other player, they better ask a PR rep for a roster sheet first or elese they'll just look silly.

I'd also like to add that I was never a fan of Carcillo outside of 2 goals he scored hsi entire career. I just think this is making a big deal out of nothing. So the guy forgot 2 4th line/healthy scratch players on a team had moved on. So? Now, if he'd forgotten what team a more prominent player like Mike Rupp or Andreas Lilja played for, then we'd have an issue.

I totally get that Jon. I think Carcillo's comments are being taken way out of context on the nature of naming names and teams though. Maybe I misunderstood Randy (that never happens though right), I thought he was saying jmatchett looked silly for not knowing that Glass was traded or signed as a UFa or RFA or whetever the heck happened there. No big deal, we's all just debating and flippin' turds around.

As Rachel would say, NO ONE GETS BETWEEN ME AND MY FLYER FAN!!!
 
Randy, are you seriously trying to make a point in league discussion about people having their facts in order before opening their mouths?

no one really cares if jmatchett knows or doesnt know anything. he looks silly regardless :owned: :devil:
 
I was so glad when the Pens got rid of him. The antics he pulled on the ice while playing for Wilkes-Barre were childish. I feel sorry for Chicago now that they have to deal with him.

Speaking of childish, my brother-in-law owns a bedding store, Carcillo and a couple of other players came in looking to buy beds one day. Carcillo proceeds to jump up and down like a little kid on practically every bed in the store. When my BIL asks who he is, he says he's one of the other players.

Maybe he'll grow up one day, but I have a feeling we're seeing Avery version 2.0.
