Champs is Live

Considering there's supposedly only 699 cases Chinner, I actually think it's pretty reasonable all things considered. I see box prices for this product soaring into the stratosphere like 04-05 SPA, only to come down once the redemptions are expired (like 04-05 SPA.)

So can anybody (Mike G?) confirm this...is each case serial numbered at the top of the box? rectanglez and I were chatting about this last night when I stopped into the shop and he was saying the cases might be serial numbered at the top? That would (obviously) be the easiest way of confirming the case run.

Yep, UD Champs cases are serial-numbered out of 699. It's marked on the top of the case.

Maverick Sports here has a total of 3 cases. I'm pretty sure that the product is all sold out by the distributors/wholesalers.

to erase any and all doubts

My first case has arrived and it is serial #'d 375/699!

I hope this quells any questions!

I will take pics of the label

And here's one that needs to be asked. What happens if (when) UD is not able to deliver on Shannon Elizabeth, Daniel Negranau, etc. Which NHL player is "comparable" to somebody who's only connection to the sport is they are a fan?

I'd love to have these graphs but I'm not spending a dime until I see some live signatures of the non-sports signers.

I just confirmed that there are both Hobby and Retail Versions of Champs. 699 Serial Numbered cases of Hobby and also some Retail. How much retail and what's in them is a mystery...

That's good news, makes it easier to work on the sets when there is a retail component of some sort.

Anything on the checklist that might be retail specific?

Considering the focus on this product is retail distribution with its price point - the hobby stuff should go fairly quickly if only because of the amount of it.

UD is officially cutting back... We had a customer pull a pack with 2 cards in it. Not to be upstaged, the next pack had zero cards in it... zero. still sealed.

I actually heard from a couple of people that some packs only had one card in them, never thought there would be empty packs.

I had a few packs in my case that were short too. I also had a pack with 5 minis. A friend of mine found two Purple backs in the same pack. I wish UD had better quality control for sure...

I want to break a box of this stuff, I am also going to try for the natural history mini set. I am a geologist so the whole idea of dinosaur cards ect. (in the natural history minis) as well as actual fossil cards is a cool concept. I am looking forward to being able to display relevant cards next to my fossil collection :) .

* if anyone wants to trade/sell their natural history cards please let me know* :D

Cheers
Connie

This product is definitely going to encounter a little price-point trouble. It entered Canada last Friday when the exchange rate was 0.75/1.33 - and that's when it would have been billed to distributors and dealers. Fast forward even to today and the exchange rate is closer to 0.80/1.25, a big enough difference to affect wax sales.
