Curt - am I not getting something here? What is the correlation between ROAD games starting late and your HOME game season tickets?
It's more a "my season tickets pay your salary, NHL Players....and now you stab me in the back by blocking the realignment".
I really wanted this realignment. More games in my time zone...I can watch road games on TV more. Now I'm stuck with dang 8:30/9:00/9:30pm start times for all my division games again (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Colorado). It really hurts the Wild by flying that distance and time zones. Players from those teams will tell you that. Wear and tear on their bodies and minds. Why do you think players go back to Eastern teams to play? Because the travel is quick, they are always in their own time zone, and they can sleep in their own beds.
And I wanted the old Minnesota Norris Division rivalries back (Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis)...and Dallas.
That is my reasoning...stick it to the players where it hurts most....their paychecks. The fans leave and so do their existence. I've had to deal with being in a division with no teams in the same time zone for 11 seasons. Have always hated it.
Just been a stressful month personally....and the NHLPA vetoing the realignment just struck a nerve last night and I lashed out at the players with a "cancel my season tickets".
Give me a few days to recover, the love for hockey will come back, and I'll get over it.
Here ends the rant........
