I’m a little surprised at the price of a tin this year. For me, it makes sense to buy from canada given the exchange rate. It doesn’t look like the American distributors took this into account.

I am quite surprised by the price stateside too, was thinking it would be cheaper than last years but go figure.

Its cost prohibitive. I sadly think I’m going to pass. I can stomach getting $100-150 of value from a tin at $400, but at $525-600, I’ll pass. Does anyone have any intel at all?

For what it’s worth, I can order boxes online from canada at about $460 US.

Yes, the US price is the same as last year, but there is no Matthews and even no top rook. At my LCS nobody is buying at USD 540/tin. I would expect that US prices will go down quite a bit.

What makes it more difficult to swallow, is there's so much rookie memorabilia and autos. Yes, the rookie auto patch cards are highly chased, but, there's too many subsets with all rookies where many aren't highly collected. A lot of tins yield two rookie photo shoot memorabilia which do absolutely nothing for me. At $540 a tin I'd like to see more game used veteran and retired star cards.

This will be the first year since Cup has been out that I will not buy at least a case. Watched several case breaks today; did not see a single one return anything close to the cost. Without a decent rookie crop the content does not support the price.

I did a lot of Cup breaks last year, but from what I've seen so far I'll be buying single cards this go around.

Ouch without the potential to win big on a Matthews/McDavid type rookie, I'd stay very far away from this stuff. The Cup has been a huge rip-off for the last couple of years, but it was like playing the lotto, as you could get that huge rookie.

The price of S1/S2 from 2017/18 is already trending down. The Cup needs to follow suit.

I did a 3 box case and I’m not happy. I put everything on eBay at auction so hopefully I don’t take too big of a beating. I’ll post the highlights in the appropriate area tonight

I'm not surprised...it's watered down with prospect stuff and semi-star stuff. Hard to be happy at $500+ a tin with that kinda stuff unless you hit a /99 RC

I hit a Patrick /24 , chytil rap, Ovechkin auto /12, nifty looking limited logos anisimov, Bjork
No auto plate, Rutta no auto plate, tanner pearson Jon numbers 70/70, Jari Kurri auto, Necas gold foil auto /36, Karlsson auto patch /25, Gaudreau quad jersey, Djoos rap /249
Not good at the price
