Dany Heatley requests trade

Murray has said that if the Sens pay Heatley the $4 million, Heatley will play in Ottawa next year. I wonder if he'll stick to his word.

I'd just like to get Heatley out of here.

I'm glad he's not coming here. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted.

I'm more worried about Tambi's issue with his players having their names leaked by the Sens for Murray & Co. personal gain.
I wonder if their is any way the Oilers can ask the league for compensation, because Murray's actions has in many ways caused turmoil for the Oil and its organizational structure.

I can only wonder what Cogliano is thinking right now after all this, but I have some relief in knowing that he's actually a professional, unlike Heatley.

From Dreger's blog:

"Heatley wont decide tonight. He believed NYR and SJ were the main targets before Oilers offer was accepted. Too much too soon."

Heatley to the Oil isn't dead yet. SOme are saying he didn't approve the deal because he wanted to make the Sens pay the $4 million. Also sounds like he wants other trade offers to come so he can choose those teams instead(NYR, although with Gabby, I'm sure they're out and SJ)

deal is dead, heatley is not coming to edmonton...

Are you assuming because the deadline passed and there were no announcements? Did Heatley officially say no? Are the Oilers tired of all the b.s.? Imo, I don't think it's 100% dead. More like 90% dead. I also think the OIlers should just pull out and look else where. Any players left on the UFA market? Tanguay is one but I don't think he'll even consider Edmonton.

he doesn't have to officially say no hes giving enough hints that he doesn't want to play here. and he will most likely be showing up to ottawas training camp

I'm done talking about Mr. H, but you raise and equally more interesting topic.

Perhaps you could clarify something for us eskimos in Edmonton. Are you trying to tell me that snow and cold weather do not exist in Ottawa. Apparently the physics of nature in the winter season cease to exist in Eastern Canada.

I was in Ott. earlier this year and they actually had more snow than we did.

Regardles, the truth really is:
Heatley = Sellfish hockey player who is about to rot in Ottawa

Yashin = refuse to play if you don't give me more money than I signed for.

Heatley = I want to be traded but I would rather stay in Ottawa than freeze my gonads off in Edmonton.

Where's the comparison?

That is crazy...what a douche!! just screwed over 2 teams.....

I think you got it backwards...I don't believe Tanguay would meet Edmonton's standards.
There's a reason he has been tossed to the curb the past three + seasons by three different teams.

Well all the good players are going off the market real fast. What about making a offer for Simon Gagne if he is available? Still make a effort to get Jagr from his KHL team? Resign Kotalik? Or forget about a top LW, sign a 3rd liner (Betts or Malholtra) and a shutdown dmen?
*and I'll say it now, I am a fan of Tanguay but my prediction is he'll sign in Colorado.
