DC Comics - The New 52

Justice League is a huge YES from me at the moment. Green Lantern Corps is also proving to be solid.

I'll put it this way: For a number of titles, I'm their customer to lose. For a far larger number, I never WAS their customer.

Went to 1,000,000 Comix on Yonge St this week...the place was INSANE with the amount of people buying this stuff. Even the back issues are garnering a pretty high premium.

It is, isn't?! I spent a good hour in that store the other day. What I've noticed is they carry a higher amount of stock than Silver Snail. When the snail sold out, I went to 1 Mil and they had stacks and stacks. But I'll still keep going to the Snail cuz the people are great there.

Also their back issues are 50% off sticker. I had purchased Wolverine: Goes To Hell TPB (collecting Wolverine #1-5) and then I purchased #4-14 for 2 bucks a piece. Always liked Wolverine and this is me getting back into Marvel since Wolverine is just up to #16 or so.

I noticed a lot of DC #1's were marked up really high. I already sold some of my multiples. With second and third printings plus digital I don't think we're going to see huge increases in value. This reminds me of the Death of Superman. That issue is def worth something, but I'll take the money now. :)

BUT, as I say that, I'm just having fun with this relaunch and haven't been in it to make a quick return. Some multiple copies I bought were cuz I got a friend into it too. Fun first.

All Star Western is a great read. Like most I am enjoying the main titles Detective, Batman, JLA, GL, Action, Batgirl, Batwoman, Frankenstein, Batman and Robin, Animal Man as well as a few others. So far the relaunch has been decent, I am sure most will drop off but so far so good.

JLA, Action, Supes and Aquaman - for sure!

GL, Dark Knight, Supes - will continue to see how these stories progress.

All in all the best thing this relaunch did was to give all of the second & third tier characters the strongest marketing push imaginable; thus allowing their stories to dictate if they truly have a long-term future.

Almost nearing the 1 year anniversary of DC's relaunch. Anyone here still collecting?

I'm down to the following titles: JLA, Batman, Earth 2, World's Finest and Aquaman.

I'm still on Batman, Detective Comics, and Nightwing.

The annuals are popping up. I just read the Batman annual about Mr. Freeze's origin (from Scott Snyder) and I thought it was fantastic. A real page-turner, great art, cool little story and a punch to the gut type of ending.

I'm only reading Flash from DC.

More importantly, what are people doing with Marvel NOW and the reboots coming from that?

The 2 FF titles continue to intrigues me, and one of the Hulk titles might be worth a try.

Honestly? Swamp Thing/Animal Man (same book, different sides of the story really) are fantastic. Aquaman is still surprisingly good. Wonder Woman has benefited from Azzarello immensely, taking the character in a direction that ought to have been explored from the beginning. Batman titles are full of disappointment, most notably Batwoman. For how good the initial mini was, the monthly wasted no time in becoming crap.

A week ago, I picked up the entirety of Power Girl (Amanda Connor's run). That's a book that needs to be revived and PRONTO. Same team.

I am still reading my core group of books. Most of the extra books I tried the first few issues but I have dropped since.

I'm taking a wait & see approach until the Marvel NOW books actually comes out. I'm sticking with Punisher and Ultimate Spidey for now.
