edmonton picks #1 again!!!

Where is the draft held this year. Sorry for sidebar but seems to be a logical place to ask this question.

congrats to Edm for winning the "lottery"

I would love to see the ping pong balls get drawn right in front of everyone

Methot and the 2nd overall for the 1st overall. I know Edmonton has shown some interest in Methot and we have some decent prospects that have been decent when called up.

Emelin is a good player but I highly doubt Edmonton would let the #1 pick go that cheap. Montreal would have to sweeten the pot to make it happen

Subban???

Oh you said sweeten not stir:|:|

I would personally love to see a blockbuster trade happen for the 1st. EDM clearly doesnt need a pick that high, any chance a team makes a stab for Yakker?

I was mad when I saw this happen last night. I am a firm believer that no team should get the first overall pick two years in a row.

If a person gets first overall they should not be allowed a top three pick next year. I would like to see them still be in the top 5. I just am not a fan of teams being rewarded for losing time and time again. I am not opposed to seeing teams get a first overall pick every other year but that's it.

I don't see Edmonton giving this pick up for an Emelin, and I think the player Montreal wants will be available at #3. I'd imagine D is what Edmonton is looking for, and probably a younger established guy who could step in opening night and give 20 minutes minimum.

Of course, Edmonton could trade off Gagner and Magnus for help on the blueline and keep the first pick.

Well guess what, Edmonton has the 1st overall, not 2 times but 3 times in a row. I can see the Oilers finishing in the lottery again next season.

Wow is all I have to say. BTW did Pittsburgh have three first round picks as well? Crosby, Malkin and MAF? Is that correct?
Crosby=1st and every team was in the lottery for him.
Malkin=2nd overall behind Ovechkin.
Fleury=1st but I believe the Pens traded for the pick.
*Also, Crosby/Malkin were back to back drafts but I believe Fleury was a couple of drafts ahead of Crosby's year.

I have no interest in Montreal trading for the #1 pick, especially not Emelin. I like how he plays. Besides, as already stated, I think we can get (Forsberg) who we want at #3.

I actually think this is a great idea. If your finishing bottom 3 for 3 years in a row then your not doing something right and shouldn't be rewarded for it.
