What could Calgary get in return for Bourque (considering his reasonable $3.3/yr contract)? I imagine he's looking for youth. Who else might he be looking to move? Will it be a "Take Bourque and Stajan..." deal like Kotalik to Buffalo to shed salary?

Not sure what kind of return they would get on a guy who scores most of his goals -10 feet from the net. Doesn't exactly hold a high value tbh.

I could see them getting a 2nd for him. Or a prospect who was selected in the 2nd round. But I doubt they'll move him since Calgary wants to win now not rebuild.

If he's traded the Flames are going to get a lot more than a 2nd. I think they could get 1 or 2 solid prospects for him because the demand for him is there.

I was thinking a good young guy like Luke Adam... a first rounder who can contribute now. Unfortunately, we've had a history of picking up other team's former first rounders who flop.

Is it true Iginla may be on the trade block at the trade deadline if the Flames are sellers? A bunch of people in Buffalo have told me rumors about another possible Sabres-Fames trade.

Re: Bourque - anyone who has seen him play in person knows that this is a guy with motivation issues. Some nights he plays tough, mixes it up, finishes his checks, and goes to the net. Other nights, he throws snow instead of checks and seems generally disinterested. Unfortunately, there are more of the latter than the former.

Re: Iginla - he will be available at the deadline if we aren't in the playoff mix.

Re: Stajan - blech.

Re: trades generally - Anton Babchuk and his new deal should be available and it's likely that we'll see him and Stajan out the door before anyone else. It will be tough to find a buyer at these prices, though.

I'm not sure who they would go after at this point. They would obviously have to send Hecht down to Rochester and would have to send salary the other way to facilitate a deal. I'd be surprised if anything happened.

I wouldn't doubt them doing something at the trade deadline. True someone would have to go or get sent down but I think they will do something. Trade Brad Boyes and Hecht if someone is dumb enought to take them lol

On the radio they were saying that Iginla and Kipper were the only players off limits at this time, but who knows as the season progresses.

Feaster would be crazy to trade Bourque anytime soon. He is one of the few "right now" players the Flames have. I could see trading him (and Iggy for that matter) closer to the deadline if playoff hopes were thin.

On the Iggy note, I could, and actually would love to see him go to Pittsburgh. There was some pretty good chemistry with him and Crosby during the Olympics and it would be great to see him get a shot at a cup before he retires.
