Final Vault Contest

Thank you for the contest Dr. Price. Over the years In the Game has made a vast majority of the cards in my collection that I consider my favorites, so picking just one was really difficult. After much deliberation, I decided to go with the one that started it all: 1998-99 Be A Player All-Star Game Used Stick.

I was a fortunate enough to attend the 1999 All-Str game in Tampa the week this set was officially announced. The following summer I walked into my local card shop in Grapevine and the owner said he had something that I might like. He was right! This was the first game used memorabilia card in my collection and became the foundation for what my collection has become today.

^^^^^^That's a nice card^^^^^^

Here is my contribution...

It's the pinnacle of my collection and captures everything Trev represents on and off the ice.

I remember opening that at the Expo that year, and it wasn't even the best card in that case if you can believe that (Richard & Beliveau Teammates cut autos 1 of 1 has the honor), lol. Sweet card indeed and happy it got into the right hands. :D -Mike

I remember being there when you opened it! I picked the case for you and set it aside before you got to the Expo building.

Weird the things you remember that links you to a specific card. :D

My entry to the party

My 3 favourite Scott Stevens cards itg cards. It was hard to pick just one but I went with this one. Sadly it's the one with no player image but oh well!

My only Scott Stevens 1/1 and the only Washington Capitals jersey patch I own and even know exists. I have a jersey one too. Love this card because everyone forgets he played for the caps and its some much less boring then the usual red white and black. Would love to add a team canada one and St. Louis one to have one of each. Thanks for the amazing card Brian!

My favorite cards are my ITG vintage PC. Been fortunate enough to put my hands on pieces I've only seen in the Hockey HOF, and even been able to have my own MTO made. To have to choose between Orr Sawchuk and Vezina is a bit to much. So Ill pick my own 50 Mission Cap. Thanks Dr Price.

I'm riddled with ITG cards but this one is tops for me!! Thanks Brian for everything you've done in the hockey card world!

Back in 09-10, me and a buddy went to the semi-annual big card show here in Vancouver. At the time I wasn't collecting hockey cards (I quit back in 05-06 after 1 year of collecting) and was collecting McFarlane goalie figures. At the show ITG was there doing a promotion where you purchase a box of an ITG product and get a special show stamped 1/1 card.

Me and buddy was wondering what all the people were doing and we haven't touched a hockey card in 4-5 years. Asked me if I wanted to break open a box for old times sake and basically told him what the hey.

My hockey knowledge wasn't great back then and I had hit a card I didn't even know who the player was nor have I heard of him (and most of you would shame me for it).

Everyone around me (including my buddy) was congratulating me on a nice pull and there's me just dumbfounded thinking who is this person and why is everyone saying its a nice card.

Among the cards in the box break was a quick auto and someone else. I thought the best hit was a Chris Osgood jersey as I actually heard of him.

The hit of the box was a Pad card. I thought it was cool and took a nice long whiff and BAM. Years of history right in my face. Bad smelling leather and all.

The one card that got me back into collecting (and I had to research who the player was after the show):

That's all it takes to get you hooked on cardboard crack!

Good story and even better Tretiak!

Going back to Canada on the 28th and I hope to be able to publish some more images of the great cards being packed into the Final Vault.

Working very hard to get the product out by March 31st.

Thanks for the contest
Well I must say that there are a lot very nice cards being showed in this thread. I agree with most that picking just one favorite is tougher than I thought. Finally decided to use the last one I picked up not the rarest nor the most expensive but to me it is one of the things that I will remember ITG for, goaltenders from the vintage to NHL to the minors and juniors they covered them all.

Thanks for the memories.
