Final Vault Contest

Here is mine. Some will say that it's not the best player ever, that's only a base 1/1 without auto, GU, 5 color patch. BUT Huet is my player since he started in NHL, a guy I started collecting during his RC season and still collect. That was my 1st one of one and imagine how hard it is to find such a card when you're living on the other side of the planet !

BTP is always fun for goalie collectors, you were sure to have at least a card to chase for your PC

Thanks for the contest. I love ITG - BAP products, so many fantastic cards especially for vintage collectors like myself. At first I was going to pick a Gretzky Stick Jersey as the Titan stick piece speaks to me lol but since Quincy already used it I will go with a different one. Tough to choose just one.

Here's my ITG MTO addition from a few years ago. I could have had several other player picks but chose Nick as part of my PC. He may not be Gretzky but just as thrilling for a player collector to add to the PC.

Thanks again for your commitment to the hockey world.

Great card! Always liked watching Huet play goal.

There are many great subsets in Superlative V3, but in my opinion these auto memorabilias are close to best looking set made - ever.

Thanks,
Harri

Oh man, where to start... ITG got me interested into the history side of the hobby, with all of the stunning vintage pieces available in its products. Since I pulled my Aurele Joliat Papercuts out of a box of Superlative V2 at the Expo about 5 years ago, I got hooked. I believe I left that Expo with 4 or 5 different Joliat 1/1, including a couple Emblem Attics (that might be my favourite set of all time).

However, the card I chose for this thread is not a vintage memorabilia card, since we already saw some stunning examples. Instead, I'll share (once again!) the cornerstone of my Paul Kariya collection. I simply don't think there can be a nicer card in my entire collection. The use of full emblems has been a huge reason why I loved ITG so much, particularly the UM and Superlative releases. So there it is, my Paul Kariya Superlative Emblem :D

I love this card. Great logo, simply one of the best IMO. Thanks for sharing :D

Even though I already showed one, Jon inspired me with his Kariya, to show this beauty that was the first card I ever acquired from ITG.

What a great thread! I love seeing all these different cards and the stories to go with them. ITG definitely got me interested in learning more about hockey history in general and I am forever grateful for that. My favorites were always Between the Pipes, Complete Jersey's and the old BAP Draft Redemptions (before the exclusive). I can honestly say that I don't ever remember opening a box of ITG product and feeling like I didn't get something cool or at least solid value. I certainly can't say that about the other companies over the years. Back on track though, thank you for the awesome contest! I have such a hard time narrowing down to my favorite after so many sweet pulls over the years! I can remember when this set came out and how hot these were at the time. I gave quite the haul to land this and at first I thought I might be crazy, but years later I still love this card! Thank you to ITG for all of the great pieces of history over the years and for making collectors feel like they mattered. Enough rambling, here is the card:

As stated in my signature, I collect HOFers and stars of the original six days. I collect mostly autographs of those players, so ITG has always been my go-to company. I enjoy building sets and have had a lot of fun in completing ones such as the 04-05 Ultimate Signature Scrapbook autos, 03-04 Parkhurst Original Six autos, 04-05 Franchises autos, etc.

There is one set though that I love so much that I will pick up extra copies whenever I can. This set contained 36 cards. 12 cards were only found in American Hobby packs, 12 cards were found only in Canadian Hobby packs, and 12 cards were only found in retail packs. This set ultimately became known as the "Channel Specific" autograph set from 1999-00 BAP Memorabilia.

This John Davidson was the last card that I needed to complete my first set.

Thanks for the contest and for all the great products you've put out over the years!

Thanks for the contest, and moreso, the memories...I think the more I think about it, the harder this question could be. You're asking me which one of my kids I like best. ITG cards did something for me, it combined my love of history with the fun I got from sports collecting.
Surprisingly enough, my choice at this exact moment would not be a vintage piece:

I still remember standing at the counter and opening the pack. I could see that there was a really fat patch in the pack, and the other cards were rocking back and forth on top of the card before I could even see it. I remember letting out a litany of colorful words, the card being so awesome it had me speaking in tongues!!
I ran home, and scanned it in, not being able to wait to show it off to the world wide web. Then, none other than Dr. Price himself picked up on my post, and showed MY CARD on his blog! I WAS FAMOUS!!!

Really, nothing ever game me thrills like ITG products...
