Karvin is a Toronto fan, Maple Leafs collectors pay big bucks for those who they collect. Mason plays for Blue Jackets, not too many CBJ collectors. Adding value to potential and Pogge's Cup card just went from 50 bucks to maybe 300 bucks

True but the other side of the coin is that Mason's rookie went from 1k to about 200? Which hold more value??

For my biased pick I think Giroux maybe could of been in there?

Anyways great reporting, this is exciting to follow on HI/Twitter!! Thanks Jeremy!!

Do you seriously want to pay over 400 bucks if Giroux had a rookie /99. I dont, so dont mention EVER of making a Flyer /99 rookie. I think they will for JVR next season.

The sad part is that there is a very distinct possibility that Pogge won't be a Leaf by the time this is released. Has that ever happened? Come to think of it, have ANY of the /99 Cup rookies switched teams yet?

week /99 class there...pogge and schenn should not be /99, period. not having mason as a /99 is ridiculous, imo.

Lame, doubling up on teams in the /99 rookies unless absolutely warranted (Malkin & Staal) eliminates a lot of collectors and fans right away.

Also, considering that Pogge doesn't seem to be part of the Leafs plans, its probably going to be one of, if not the worst /99 rookie to hit right out of the pack.

I think when these cards were probably printed 4 or 5 months ago, there was a lot more upside to Pogge's future... things have changed since then...

Here is the Mason off UD's Facebook... definately a /249 for whatever reason.

Pogge and Turris should not be /99. The other 4 you can make cases for. Turris just never got started this year, so he easily should have been replaced by someone else. He has potential down the road, but people busting right now won't be overjoyed to pull him or Pogge.

While I agree Pogge has no business being there (We'll call it the Tlusty effect), I disagree on Turris. I feel he is a legitamte /99 Rookie. I'd put him ahead of Wheeler myself. He did not have a great season but based on what he'll likely develop into, its justified.

A lot of people thought Gilbert Brule was going to develop into something...

Brad, Turris did awful, and Wheeler was easily one of the most skilled rookies in the whole crop if not the most skilled. I know you don't like Wheeler but you can't put Turris in front of him. Turris did awful this year, and he's probably just another Gilbert Brule.

A big thanks to Jeremy for keeping us up to date on the "packout" and more importantly providing a critical database that should minimize the number of fake patches produced from this set. Beers are on me at the next MLS Trading Card Night.

I too can't believe that Pogge made it on the list of RCs out of 99; Steve Mason should have been part of the group of six. Although the chances were slim I was worried that Oshie or Berglund might make the cut. Hopefully this means I won't need to break the bank to purchase this years Blues rookie crop from The Cup.

uggh, not doughty! :|

he deserves to be there...but my wallet wishes he wasnt lol. i know how much i paid for the kopitar /99 and was hoping to not do it again haha.

thanks for the updates though Jeremy!

don't know if you can answer yet or not, but do you know if Wayne Simmonds(kings rookie) has a rookie in the cup? i figure if he is in it, hes just a regular autograph, but im just hoping hes in it at all.

I'm told the checklist was completed in November. At that point, Mason was a non-factor and Pogge looked decent. The cards get printed and off they go. Such is life people.
