For all you Non-Twitters - Gomaz's Twitter feed

this is going to be an awesome resource. I'd imagine the pictures wont' be released because that would take away the thrill of the hunt.

How is this going to work?

Also, who are the devils rc's? Who gets the rc patch auto treatment?

Gomaz: Great work by doing this with Upper Deck. I was working in a pharmacy when the photographers came in to take pictures of every medication we had in our use. Tablets, containers etc... one at a time. They were there for two weeks set up with the booth. A very time consuming thing you are doing. Perhaps UD will push something your way. The photographers didn't get any military drugs from us though??

Jeremy posted earlier (in another thread maybe?) that the process of cropping and sorting the pictures will take a LOT of time. He's shooting between 32 and 45 cards per picture (21 megapixel quality). After that is done, the sorting & cataloguing of each card has to be done, and THEN he has to determine the most reasonable way to have the photos available to the open market. The pictures will not be HI-exclusive so everyone will have similar access to them, however that access looks. We'll have to wait to determine what Jeremy & UD have agreed to.

At the end of the day, regardless of how the images are made available, this is a major step in the right direction.

Just showing UD that it CAN be done will help them out. Jeremy can also provide them valuable information on time required to do the process, so that they can further investigate doing it themselves in the future.

Jeremy, I can't afford to crack the Cup on my budget (one pack in three years!) but I do buy the odd card, and I appreciate what you're doing. Thanks!

Cory

Good work and hats off to everyone who made this happen - this will prove to be a turning point in the hobby I am certain of it (or at least hopeful).

On a side note - I thought Oshie might make a run at /99 rookie class and I can honestly say that I would rather have him that half of the current class however my wallet is relieved that we'll be chasing the /249's.

And...I am really itching to put in an order on a case...and I know I shouldn't...ahhh

Come on Cory! I'm sure your daughter is itching to crack another tin this year!! :)

Did not see a Jesse Winchester patch auto rc. He may have a non-patch rc, but I didn't notice.

Coolest, most intriguing hit in the product - that would obviously be the Hawerchuk black auto patch parallel 1/1. When Karvin packed it today, I yelled out "Noooooooo". Well, I do know that the pack its in has Koivu on top. I tried to let him put my business card in the pack with a note saying to call me, whoever opens the pack. But He would not let me.

Seriously though, there are some sweet property ofs and cuts. In particular, Terry Sawchuk. The cuts are gorgeous this year. The way they affixed the original paper to the card is really cool. The Messier Crosby shield was awesome to have in hand, although I only saw the Messier side as it was in a team bag that I didn't dare open.

There is a Devils RC, can't remember who though.

Filewich has an auto/patch RC.

So, How does it work with the patches in cards that are currently out to be signed?

Also, did you get a ballpark from anyone on the % of redemptions.

I was also wondering your opinion of condition; did you see many cards go into packs that were factory damaged/ mis-handled??

Redemptions are really low. Since it is hand pack we reduce the number of redemptions in the product replacing with other autographed cards

Nice - so instead of getting a Crosby redemption of some sort (or some other player that actually has a hobby following and is listed in the price guides) - I am going to get a Niklas Nordgren or Drew Stafford because they have no life and nothing better to do that sign cards and return them in an efficient manner? I hope that isn't the case. LOL. I will be more than a LITTLE ticked off.

Mike.

"Crosby and Datsyuk got their autos in during the last couple days and will not be redemptions!"

I personally would rather a weaker set of cards with no redemptions than one with a bunch of redemptions that never get filled.

My only request after UD doesnt get cards back and they dont pack them out. Is that they change thier checklist on the web site. I would also like them to add cards to the checklist that were never packed out but sent out as redemption replacements.

Thank you for all of your back-breaking work! It must have been an amazing,if not overwhelming, experience. did you happen to notice if Varlamov made it in?
