People have consistently spoke of case hits as being a hit that drops one per case. Like the Ice /99 RCs of the last two years, the OPC Auto Buyback card, the OPC Signatures card, Clear Cut Winner cards. multi-player SOTTs, etc.

What do you do with a case that yields a Tlusty /99 RC and any given Gretzky, Howe or Orr autograph card? What is your case hit then?

I never opened a single case of the Cup where I could point to one card as the "Case Hit" - something of a certain scarcity that made the case. It really never occurred to me that Upper Deck could pinpoint out one card that was the best card of a given Cup case - just something in line with normal odds.

Of course, I skewered all the odds once on a 1/1 Dual Auto Shields card of Bourque and Stevens - but I wouldn't have called it my "case hit". Just a trail of obscenities and Superlatives....

I was trying to figure out the case hits also on The Cup. 5/6 tins of 06-07 had two /99 rookies (Kessel & Malkin) and five 1/1 press plates. And a eight card tin on top of it which wasn't as good as the Malkin /99 pack. I always figured it was a made over my money pack or just broke under even pack.
 
Hey gomazz, appreciate all the work you're doing. One question though, are you taking pics of ALL the cards or just the patch cards? I think it would be somewhat redundant to be taking pics of base and non material cards since those aren't forged. Just a thought though.

I am hoping it is the entire checklist personally. Patch card or not. For there to be a database of everything collectors could determine if all the print run was packed out, what is and isn't redemptions, etc.

I know of cases where some of the print run hit the original pack out and some were redemptions and I have also been on the bizarre end of two cards sharing the same serial numbering.

I hope for a full checklist database but given Jeremy's charitable volunteer work to make the hobby better I think we all are grateful of anything and everything he is doing.
 
I am only photographing the patch cards.

Several, bit not all /99 rc's have been and are case hits. They do not fall one per case because there are several other case hits.

Can't wait to see how the pics turn out. It's awesome that you're getting to do this, although I'm sure it will reach the point where you get sick of it.

Just out of curiosity, have you seen any Jesse Winchester RC's? I'd assume if he is in it at all it will just be a non-patch auto.

I know this may sound weird, but are you going to take pictures of the actual cases. Reason I asked this so another situation like Mark's never happens again.

God I cant wait to see these patch fakers get sooooo busted when they attempt to alter these cards and sell them.

I higly doubt the 20,000 + pictures will be available for all to see when the first cup cards hits the bay, cards are going to get alterred and buyers shafted.
