Gamers...what are you playing right now?

I think if the game is re-released though, it has to be done right. None of the game mechanics get changed, the only commentary is Larry Huffman's random one liners, and they do non-vocalized versions of music again. One of the problems I've had with the HD remixes is how much retro gamers just want access to the old title, and how the updates wreck it a bit.

For example, when Super Street Fighter HD came out...they kept the old sprites, but not the rest of the old game. None of the old music was kept intact, which was one of the most recognizable parts of the whole experience.

I don't mind seeing a re-release that has music from a lot of today's musicians (Disturbed, for example, would make a really good backdrop) but they've got to keep the old game in there somewhere too.

The newest console I have now is my snes, sold everything else as they were just collecting dust. I honestly have more fun playing that than I ever had on ps3... well with the exception of mod nation racing since it was along the same style of game :D
 
Actually been playing Saints Row 2 haha. I like those games so much more than GTA. I like that they are more arcade style and not as realistic.

I will soon be playing some motorstorm on my playstation 3d display I bought. Boxing week sale of $99. it will go perfect in my basement.
 
I got Borderlands 2 on Boxing Day and I'm not enjoying it at all. Granted, I haven't played it too too much yet- I feel like I don't even want to. It's a chore to put it in. I'm feeling forced to play it because I just bought it.

So I'm likely going to trade it in....

I've never played Uncharted (crazy I know!).... Should I get Uncharted 3?

Start with Uncharted and work your way through Ern...you won't regret it. Great series.

I'm playing Assassin's Creed 3 now...and I'm not feelin' it. Maybe I need a break from the games.

I loved the asassins creed series....would complete the entire game in just a few sitting. With that being said AC3 was a little harder for me to get through and got to the point where I just wanted it to be over. The opening was fun, going through the theater, but after that it just started to lose me. Then it took about 3-4 hrs just to become the "assassin!" Thank god for Black Opts 2. I played that for a while right after AC3 was released and finally picked it (AC3) back up in January to finish the story.

Im kinda an over achiever with games and love getting the achievement points so Ill be going back and trying to get what I missed eventually.


Back to the topic....I just finished up Resident Evil 6 (all 4 stories) and thought that it was a great game for the price (can be bought now for $20)! If you can I would recommend this at that price. I also just finished up playing the new Tomb Raider! AMAZING!!!!! Great Storyline, Great Gameplay, I can only hope they are making this into a series. The game was challenging but not to the point where you want to throw the controller through the television. Gameplay on it was about 16hours, and leaves you wanting more....in a good way. At one point in the game it leads you to believe that the game is complete, and found myself disappointed thinking it was over....but that was short lived and 8more hours of adventure was ahead of me! I have not played the online aspect of it but from what I have heard it sounds like they were trying to jump on the online ban-wagon and it just does not flow for the type of game it is. But if you are into single player games this is an Absolute Must!

Up next for me will be God of War: Ascension....Im hoping this one lives up to the previous God of Wars..
 
You know what's awesome? This thread is more than 4 years old now. My first ever post mentioned that I was playing Boom Blox on the Wii?

To date, that was literally the last time I played anything on the Wii :laugh:

I'm not playing anything specific right now...doing a lot of product and hardware reviews and things for Best Buy, so anything I play is usually geared toward having to do that hardware review. I just went out and bought a couple racing games for the PS3 since I have a lot of wheels I need to do for review. Gran Turismo 5 XL for $10 though...I can live with that.
 
Deadpool. While I'm opposed to giving Rob Leifeld any money at all, this is an incredibly entertaining and silly (in a good way) game.

There's really no words to adequately describe getting an achievement for spending 5 minutes slapping an unconscious Wolverine.
 
Doubt it qualifies as a gamer's game but I've been killing time playing Super Hexagon on my iPhone. Anyone else ever try this game?

Good god...if it's the game I just saw on Youtube...I think it definitely qualifies as a puzzle gamer's game Jeremy. That game looks intense :whatthehell:

I bought Last of Us on launch day, but I admit I haven't been playing it much. I think I'm about an hour in (I just got to meet Ellie)

That's because Animal Crossing has been jeopardizing my gaming time for the 3rd time in my life (previously on the Gamecube and DS...I own the Wii version but never opened and played it) :|
 
Finished the last of us and I must say the beat zombie game I played so far. Great story line. Can't think of anything bad to say. Not sure what to play next!
 
Tired of all the current stuff so went back to Dark Souls - it gets better with age. Time for a playthrough of epic difficulty...I at least want to throw my controller in anger lol.
