Hi everyone,
Hope you're all having a great day!
Yesterday I went to visit a collector who "had some hockey cards he wanted to get rid of".
I went through dozens of boxes of early 90's stuff (pro-set, premier...) and had the displeasure of telling him that the cards were not really desirable.
Then, I found them... two small boxes with "1955 Topps Hockey" written on them, and one large box reading "1954-55 Parkhurst Hockey".
They are complete sets, 60 for the Topps and 100 for the Parkhurst. Each card, though not in mint condition, is in a top-loader. Many of the cards are in excellent condition based on other vintage cards I have seen.
I also found a box which is a full set of 1955 Bowman Baseball - same deal, all cards in loaders and very well cared for considering they are over 60 years old.
Lastly, there was a box of old non-sport cards which included about 100 mini photos from a set called Topps Scoop, which is from 1954.
I will post some pictures when I have a chance to upload them this evening, but I'm wondering a couple of things:
a) are these better sold as complete sets, or broken up?
b) is there any point in grading these?
c) do you have any other tips for dealing with vintage cards?
Cheers!
:thanks:
Hi everyone,
Here are some scans of the cards... haven't done them all yet, but I intend to!
