GDT: Detroit @ Pittsburgh - Jun 4th - Game #4

If I am on the Wings bench right now, I am worried. The Pens are starting to believe.

They're veterans, they'll handle it, but there must be a little doubt sprinkled in there too.

Who was saved by the clock there?

If there were 5 more seconds...

Malkin scores and Pittsburgh goes in with a huge lead.

Osgood stones him and Detroit has something to build on after an Aweful period.

I would have loved 5 more seconds.

Yup I'd agree with that, they seem to be starting to believe they can pull this off.All the cylinders are running now, kinda what they missed last year. When they're all going in that zone the Pens are pretty scary.
Here's to a good finish on this one!!!

Malkin is just amazing. I am as guilty as anyone as talking about the other big two NHL stars and ignoring him as a player...I can't do that anymore. When you compare how far he has come from last year at this time, it's quite remarkable.

He's my MVP right now. I just hope this gets the Pens over the hump.

Also really nice to see Jordan Staal step up.

It sure hasn't turned out to be the sweep so many were predicting just a couple of games ago. This is not the Penguins of 2008.

It should be a fantastic finish.

By the way, I hate the diving, Sid. Don't do that again.

I said it after Game 2 that I thought Babcock exhausted Zetterberg and it looks like he has. Seems like that's the problem with the Red Wings is that their top scoring line has been told their major role in this series is to play defense. Lidstrom looks like a shell of his old self due to his nagging injuries. I bet they will get a big lift if Datsyuk plays at home on Saturday.

Great to see that we really do have a series here. Detroit did look tired, but apart from period 1, Pitts dominated the game. Simply amazing to see Malkin step up for the big games. Go Pens! :D

OMG NOOOOOOOO he won't play i'm soooooo sad

Fantastic Game tonight, Just got home from it a few minutes ago, and
thought nothing could make it better, but I was wrong, this post puts
the icing on the cake tonight, thanks!

Go Pens!! :dance::dance:

ps...i'll post up some pics tomorrow.

Sure could tell that the refs had some money on the game, just seemed a like a lot of slashing and whacking and hacking going on out there. We need some of our other stars to start lighting the lamp or we are done.:|

I don't get it, who then were the refs betting on?

Yeah, I agree. I think the refs lost a lot of money last night because they missed a ton of calls against Detroit. Several tripping calls, Malkin breakaway, empty net penalty. They sure tried like hell to get Detroit back in it.

Staal shorthanded was basically the game. If Detroit had scored on either of the powerplays it's probably 3 games to 1 Detroit going back to the Joe. Malkin was incredible and Fleury had another good game.
We'll see what happens at the Joe though, I still like our chances with 2 out of 3 at home. I'm not sure who said sweep here. It surely wasn't me as I said it would go 7. Hopefully it does as I have tickets for game 7 :D

Why was Abdelkader taken out? He was so good. I think they could have used him instead some of the deadweight the wings dressed last night.

I'll admit that I don't watch much hockey outside of the Habs, but from what I've seen in the playoffs, I'd rather have Abdelkader than Maltby. That guy has been trying all series to start something. It's game 4, the league clearly won't suspsend any of the stars so why bother?
