Here we ask how a card of a certain set looks like

Anybody have any information or a scan of a card from 97-98 Revolution Red? They didn't used to be in Beckett, but I noticed it when I was making my new Ruslan Salei wantlist. Here's what Beckett says:

I bought a Kurri on COMC because it was cheap. Pretty sure it's really just a Copper that they mislabeled though. Worth the risk, even if it is.

Never seen one of any player so I've kept them off my lists. Of course interested in hearing if someone has one.

I'm curious if anyone owns or has ever seen 1999-00 Upper Deck Exclusives 1/1 cards of the Prospects subset (the last 30 cards in the set, #'s 306 through 335). Despite Beckett and Upper Deck listing them on their sites, I have never seen the Silver Exclusives x/100 for this subset, so I'm fairly confident those were never made, but not so sure about the gold 1/1's - can anyone confirm?

No Exclusives parallels (of either version) have ever been seen for that set, and I've got two players in the set I've been looking for since release. We can safely say they do not exist. Beckett's been told about this and ignored it.

I've been working on this set for about 8 or 10 years now, and have never seen an Exclusives version for the last 30 cards of the set.

97-98 Revolution Red cards do not exist, unfortunately.

Do you have a source for this? Why would Beckett add them in the last year or so without having something? They even put a description of which packs they were inserted in. Not saying Beckett never has mistakes by any means, but you can't prove something doesn't exist just because you haven't seen it. Not arguing, just hoping you'll elaborate.

Cole,

They have been listed in Beckett before. I'll have to double check the old annuals, but I know they were listed before I wrote them off myself.

I've been working on a master set of the darn thing for years (need a Silver Barnaby to complete [SHAMELESS PLUG]) and I have never seen one as well as my hoarding of Gelinas/Linden - I find it unlikely that a card like that has been missed.

Given that I've never seen them before as "reds", I'm in the same camp HOWEVER, given the Treat/Walmart distribution of them, I *could* see them coming on to market at this point via Fairfield or similar.

I'd love (no, not really because it would be 150 more cards on my wantlist + the Gelinas/Linden) to see the Kurri when it arrives - I think it's likely an off color copper (without seeing it myself). They have a Vladimir Tsyplakov listed right now and I'd lean towards it being the copper and not a red.

Fair enough. I was pretty convinced myself. I was really just wanting a better explanation since he only wrote a sentence without any support. The scan of the Kurri I bought definitely looks pretty copper too. I always figured it was, but for $3, why not?

I don't remember where I heard it confirmed, but I do know I heard that they were never produced from a reliable source. I've also been collecting the set since the day it came out and have never seen a picture of one, let alone one in person.

Granted, at this point it's unlikely we'll ever have absolute confirmation since the company no longer exists.

Here's an easy one for the pre-Crosby era collectors...03-04 UD Exclusives (or UD2 by the packs). I have 3 HG's from that year but zero exclusives. These are to be numbered /50 and supposed to have "EXCLUSIVE" in foil. Are there any other special features with the finish on the card? where is the numbering?

Thanks. I have learned a lot from this thread since it was started.

There's both Canadian Exclusives and UD Exclusives. I think the UD Exclusives were only for Series 2. #'d /50 for base and I think /25 or maybe /10 for YGs.

Those 03-04 High Gloss cards are a pain, still missing the Turco for my collection and haven't seen one in over 5 years of searching. That along with the MVP Gold script are a pain to find.

With all that being said, does anyone have any of the 08-09 Ovation Jumbo Autographs? Marty is listed as having one in that set however I have never seen any of the Ovation Jumbo autos

Hi

I don't know in to which thread shall I put this question, but I hope this is good.

Do somebody know what is this card? Which set, which year...?

thanks

One parallel I haven't seen for Scott Niedermayer is the 2000-01 OPC Foil Parallel. Seen lots of Topps Foil Parallels though. Anyone know if they exist for sure.

Yeah, they're out there. But definitely tougher. I have both for my Foote PC, and Nieminen and Aubin in my RC collection. All told I'm at 6/7 for OPC (says Topps) and 3/7 for Topps (says OPC). It's one of the 3 Deadmarsh cards I still need.

Here's a couple I grabbed last December:

Thanks, I'll keep looking then.

Been working on the lemieux collection tonight and had a couple of questions. How can you tell the difference between the retail and hobby base for the different 2001-02 Pacific products? Is it different for every set? Also what is the difference between the 2001-02 Topps / OPC OPC Parallels and Topps Parallels? Thanks.

Depends on the Pacific set, however the majority of them had the hobby set with gold foil while the retail sets had silver foil. The only Pacific set I can really help out with a scan is Adrenaline

scan0005.jpg

The hobby base card is the one with gold foil, the retail is the one with silver foil

With the 01-02 Topps set, the Opee Chee parallel had a silver foil. Whereas the regular OPC cards had gold foil and their parallels had OPC Premier in silver. Unfortunately I don't have any scans to help in the way of this set.

For 2001-02 Topps/OPC there's the following:

Topps base - Gold "Topps"
Topps OPC parallel - Silver "O-Pee-Chee"
OPC base - Gold "O-Pee-Chee"
OPC Premier parallel - Silver OPC Premier (bigger and triangularish) logo

I think the scans are actually in one of my posts on the previous page.

Thanks for the help. I have another question and probably have a few more in a little bit.

So my question. I know there are a couple different versions of the cards scanned below (reg. & emblem I think). How can I tell the difference? Is one the emblem of just the regular card with a nicer jersey piece? Thanks again.
