Who's got them?

My biggest pet peeve is receiving a card in the mail and the sender has put scotch tape over the top. Usually it's cheap tape and you can't get it off without ruining the card holder (ie. leaving behind tape residue). You want the card to look nice so you put it in a new one, thereby wasting the old one.

When I send cards, I wrap the plastic card holder in saran wrap before putting it in a bubble envelope. Card is safe, holder stays pretty. :)

I pinch the top of the top loader and I'm also one of the guys who puts tape on it. If your card gets to you in the condition described, does it really matter that the holder has been "ruined"? If you try hard enough, you can get the tape glue off the holder...lighter fluid and a napkin works.

My peeve is $5 for shipping, $0.90 stamp on the white envelope.

Tape I can deal with. A lot of houshold solvents will take the goo off of the toploader. Most don't send cards in brand new toploaders anyway. Even the scratched up ones have uses in temporary storage, though.
I'd have to agree with Triple on this one.
Shipping cost profiteering is one of my biggest. I refuse to pay more than $3.00 from Canada or 2-2.50 from inside the US.
I had a guy from Hong Kong only charge me 2.00, once. Bubble mailer and everything from overseas for 2.00?? MY HERO!!
:)

I just think saran wrap is an easy solution. :)

As for high shipping prices, I just adjust my bid accordingly. I make my maximum bid a few dollars lower.

With Drew on that one.

Just to reflect how truly pedantic I can be, my biggest peeve remains "honesty in advertising". Only a 1/1 is a 1/1. Only a RC is an RC. There are no "masterpieces" in hockey. None. A patch is a patch. A jersey is not a patch.

And don't even get me started on grammar.

Pet Peeve for me is when you win a nice card and the seller sends it packaged like it's nothing. I mean putting the patch card between 2 2 top loaders like a sandwich, or putting a thick card in a screwdown thats too small for it! I mean duh, I just paid $100+ and you're too cheap to send it in a screwdown that fits?

I'm in agreement with Q

Nothing is more annoying than conducting a search for a particular item and having these Word Spams showing up.

And don't get me started on the over charging of 'S & H!' Or for that fact, the use of recycled materials to ship items! I prefer to get what I paid for and not be gouged.

I'm with Drew as well. No disrespect to anyone who sends with scotch tape over the toploader, but I love it when my cards arrive with either masking tape over the top (easier to remove) or better yet the toploader with no tape inside a snug team bag. So far haven't had any problems with the card being damaged while moving around using those methods, but can see how there could be I guess.

The past few days I've been getting packages that look like they need a password to get into. Yesterday, I got one with duct tape on the outside of the mailer, all the way around, twice...So I had to cut the bubble mailer in half, hoping the card was not in the middle, then when I got to the card, it was taped in between three toploaders, with tape all the way around, the sides and top/bottom, took me 10 minutes to get the card out, a simply strip of tape on the top is fine with me as I do not keep the cards in the top loaders sent, but some times it's just rediculous (I can NEVER spell that word...)....

Paying $140 for a pack and pulling $14 worth of cards. I also hate misleading information in the title of ebay auctions...if its not an auto, 1/1, rc, patch then don't put it in the title. This year was especially bad with Crosby and Ovechkin added to titles even though it wasn't an auction for those cards.

Tape on a toploader is my biggest annoyance. I have a stack of toploaders that are gunked up. Team bags cost about $.02, splurge! It takes more than 2 cents worth of time to clean gunk off a toploader.

Get yourself a bottle of Goo Gone, it works wonders on those crusty toploaders that we all have stacks of just lying around. I spent a couple hours on a couple of hundred and only a couple needed to be tossed.

for sure, googone is the gear for getting rid of tape or sticker residue on plastic or metal even. keep it around the house to get those ugly dealership stickers off your car when you're not cleaning toploaders :)

I really don't have a pet peeve... I'm not excited about pack prices & what you get for your $, but I hardly buy more than a low end pack or two at a time anyway.

I don't have a big grump with tape on the toploaders - I recycle them by using them for shipping. Same with expired points, other cardboard blanks.

What annoys me to no end is people who inquire about a card you list for trade. You reply to them with what you're looking for in return and they drop off the face of the earth. Fine if you don't want to pay that much or trade that much just say so. I shouldn't have to PM you again after 3 days of no replies. Its just common courtesy to let a person know.

Dan.

One of the things that bothers me is those that end auctions early and those that convince these people to end auctions early. An auction is an auction.Weather it is one day or the limit of 10 days.Imagine planning to go to some estate auction 300 miles away. You have read the list in the local newspaper and something really catches your eye.So you say I want that. You drive the 300 miles only to have the auction organizers tell you that,oh we already sold that because we had an offer that we felt was too good to pass up.This goes on a lot at everyones favourite collecting auction house.Just my thoughts, thanks,Winston.

I would have to agree with you on these, they are very annoying. Although....there are actually "masterpieces now in hockey...at least that is what UD calls the printing plates :p
