Some ideas I was thinking abou:

* Rituals before game or pre game rituals etc
(A game used set with players that are or were famous for an odd ritual before game. Like Glenn Hall who was vomiting before a big game)


* Inventions of the game
(Players that have come up with some great inventions or the first player to use something during a game wish makes more players to use that item. Like the the curved blade, Butterfly style, first goalie mask etc)

*hobbies
(Maybe a boring idea. But maybe a set with players that have a cool/strange hobby.
A game used set where the player could be shown on the card when doing his hobby. Maybe it should be a piece from the hobby too. Like Mats Sundin. A game used piece and a piece of a poker card use by Mats)

I was JUST about to post this very idea, I don't think it was me that told you but cool to see others pushing for the same idea.

You could make a special MTO for a jumbo emblem and make it a 1/1, but with a special twist:

You not only get to pick the player you want, but fly to ITG headquarters and cut the swatch yourself!

I think it would be a tremendous opportunity to meet Dr. Price and have the experience of cutting your own jumbo emblem 1/1 card, I know it would encourage me to break a lot more UM10 ;)

Call the set "City Foundations." Include a jersey of a prominent player from city, and also a small piece of a brick or concrete or something from a famous/historic skyscraper in the same city. It would be the first attempt to combine architecture and sport on a trading card.

How about an auto set similar to that (in my opinion the best one from ITG Ultimate)
 
How about a 'Sin Bin' card with a jersey (or fight strap, etc.) and a piece of the penalty box bench they spent the most time siting on. ;)
 
What about a destination overseas match-ups?

Feature game-used memorabilia or autographs of players that played against each other in games outside North-America. Might take a bit of research to figure out optional players, but would make for an interesting and innovative subset.

Destination: Zürich, Switzerland - 1959
Gump Worsley - Harry Lumley (Memorabilia)

Destination: Paris, France - 1959
Eddie Shack - John Bucyk (Autograph)

For example.
 
This will probably be more like UM15, but I think a made to order where you get ideally a small screen portable media player(for now a DVD would work) and you can pick your favorite player and they record a personal message to you. "Thanks to you, blank, for being such a great fan over these years!" or whatever you want it to say.
 
what about double sided ultimate international logo's

one one side you have a player like Marty Brodeur with a Canada jersey and nice logo piece on the other side you have him shown as a Devil with a nice Devils piece?

or you can do it side ways have them shown side by side.

They key is having them shown in the same club team (devils) jersey from the year they participated in the international tournament.
 
or it could be a journey emblem - like the Ultimate Emblems from UM9, but double sided. So you could have a Roy Avs on one side and Habs on the other, or a Gretzky Oilers on one side and Rangers on the other. That'd be a seriously thick card ;)

Or go crazy with a dual sided quad emblems jersey.....

For Gretzky, Oilers & Kings on one side, Blues & Rangers on the other.
