Any reviews on any of the Marvel Zombies runs? I've grown to like Suydam's artwork. I've read that the first run was ok, but the ones what followed were not worth the money.

Opinions?

I have the hardcover and I enjoyed it. I also have the Ultimate FF zombie books, they were OK. To be honest I usually stick to my pull list, between those and some older books I can't afford to stray to far.

I grabbed the first 2 issues of Marvel Apes at the LCS owner's suggestion (he's an honest guy, so don't think "of course he'd try and sell it to you!"). I haven't picked up my stuff from last week yet, but he probably tossed in #3 as well.

A word of advice: stay away from this series. It is terrible. The artwork is amusing--sure, haha, a Captain America gorilla, Spidey with a prehensile tail--but that is all it has going for it. You can get by on great art when you have Alex Ross doing it, but not this mess.

You've been warned.

I'll have to re-skim 1 and 2, but if there is a mention anywhere, even an allusion to, the phrase "damn dirty apes" I'll tear my eyes out.

I have a BIG box of books coming tomorrow or the next day (Yeah). Have a new supplier who is giving me 25% off across the board (not bad). Just saw that Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four will be canceled in February. These two just happen to be part of my pull list.

I'm not sure if it is "new" news or not, but apparently it will be replaced by the current Ultimate Avengers. The word "replaced" seems to indicate that the X-Men and/or 4 will be making appearances, I would think.

Apparently the cancellation will be due to some goings-on in the Ultimatum storyline in the Ultimate universe.
