One up, one down (surprise)

Good: Hamhuis becomes a fan favorite, scoring 40 points, playing exceptional on PK, etc.

Bad: Rookies don't make an impact on the team, Hodgson, Schroeder, Shirokov all play in the minors for the majority of the year. (not that I have a problem with that, but I'm sure some people will)

Good surprise: Claude Giroux will score at least 70 points this year (will this really be a surprise?)

Bad surprise: Jeff Carter will be held to under 30 goals this year.

Good: Dion Phaneuf returns to the form that had him competing for the Norris trophy.

Bad: Nazem Kadri makes the big club but can't live up to the expectations and gets sent to the Marlies.

Kadri wins the calder

Kaberle will have his worst stat year of his career because of all the neg comments and how he is being treated. kabs will also struggle due to his much more limited amount of ice time.

The Good - Kovalev will get a bigger role in Ottawa this year and score 75-80 points.

The Bad - Pascal Leclaire will not hit his stride in Ottawa and Elliott will be called upon once again to be number 1.

The Good: Kyle Okposo will break out and have a great season with the rest of the young Isles.

The Bad: I hate to say it but I belive Martin Broduer will have a fallout. One of the all time greatest but with a huge workload I feel he'll burn out early this year.

The Good: Mikko Koivu will have a 80-90 Point year

The Bad: Koivu still scores all those points with middle of the road players and the wild miss the playoffs. Also the sell out streak will end this year

I think Dipietro will play in 4 games, losing 3.

you would consider this a suprise of any sort?

Good: Meyer will step-up and smash the 100 point mark and make me change my sig!

the OP said a suprise... not "be unreal"

Bad: The Habs exit in the first round, with the Montreal faithful booing Carey Price off the ice causing him to demand a trade.

the Habs exiting in the first round would be suprising?

Horrible: Toronto finishes bottom three again giving the Bruins another top pick and causing the Toronto fans and media to run Burke out of town leaving the franchise in worse shape then it's ever been.

once again, this would be a suprise to anyone?

and i don't have any suprises in mind for my :blues:, except that they may make the playoffs. The Hockey News picked them to finish 6th in the West, so we'll see...

Good Surprise- Benoit Pouliot will show why he was a top pick 30 plus goals
Bad Surprise- Plekanec plays well defensively but doesnt get 60 plus points

Reality- Gomez will under perform at 7.6 million dollars

GOOD SURPIRSE: Pascal Leclaire will remain healthy the entire season.

BAD SURPRISE: Pascal Leclaire will remain healthy the entire season. He's really just a solid backup.

good: iginla/jokinen/tanguay click and find there stride
bad: iginla finally breaks a hand while fighting someone and missed half the year.
