Just cracked a 16-box master case with a buddy. UTTTTTTERLY disappointed! What is the highest valued card in these 16 boxes?? NICK Robertson BASE auto...value of what $40-$50??

16 boxes and THIS is the best card?? Paid $2400 for the case/ $150 per box. I wouldn't open these again at $100 per box.

Anyone else share these ill feelings about Platinum??

I would love to open more Allure but my supplier is telling me he can't get anymore for me at the $180 mark and I"m probably looking at $200 per box?? I don't enjoy Allure that much.

Looks like I'm done cracking for a while! LOL
 
Yeah, it is brutal.

How was your mix of current year vs last year autographs? Most of the cases I have seen opened seem to be close to 50/50.

My box was ugly, haven't been able to sell a single card from it. Likely will end up with about $10 in return from the $180 (after taxes).

I'd say out of 16 autos (no surprise boxes with 2), there were about 50% autos from last year and not one good name like Fox or Makar. Names like Boqvist and Lindgren are what comes to mind.

I'm a sucker for punishment because I didn't like last year's Platinum and this was even worse. NEVER again!!!

And $180 per box...that's absolutely absurd!

Agree this years Platinum is really watered down. So many master cases I've seen with no case hit worthy cards. Allure is much better.
 
I busted a inner case and there were four 2019-20 autos. Well that sucked as if I wanted last years autos I would have bought last year's product. As for the case hit, I guess you could say it was 2019-20 Nitka Gusev emerald auto numbered to 10. Don't think he is even in the league any more so that makes you really happy.

Thought it couldn't get worse! The owner called me and said he got another case before his cost went up (hard to believe it would go up!) and he said he would let me have it at $120 a box. So I stopped by thinking it had to get better. Box one 2019-20 auto, box two another 2019-20 autos. At that time I said enough is enough! I am not wasting anymore money on this year's product.

6 out of 10 boxes had 2019-20 autos.

Emailed Quality Control at UD and have yet to get any answer.

TOTALLY agree! It's worth paying a bit more for Allure in my opinion! I imagine wave 2 pricing for Platinum will see a significant drop, just like Extended!!!

I haven't touched this product but if your box hit is a rookie autograph from last year, that is plain disrespect. The leftovers should be inserted as bonus cards.
 
Value aside it's very obvious that this product was made along time ago and they sat on it for some reason. Kaprizov's pictures are 100% photoshoped, Cozens has his picture from the previous preseason (old navy jersey and different jersey number), and Stutzle has his name spelled Stuetzle meaning the product was made before Series 2. Kinda lame if you ask me.

UD sat on it? Lol, come on. This was due to printing and packaging issues they've had all season. It's a major issue for card manufacturers right now.

As for the product itself, I like it. I did well with my hits though so I am biased.

Do I hate that your auto hit can be from last season? Yes. That is something I think needs to change. I have no issue with them putting in last year's updates but those should be extra hits no matter who they are.
 
UD puts in those autos from last year because they payed the athlete’s for them. If they added them as a extra hit then the box price would go up. Also they would make less boxes. That would mean less money.Depending on the Auto you get it’s an all around crappy situation for the collector but why would they stop? Ronfir had a major bird with his case break days ago and still went back for more. The guys breaking it here is a drop in the bucket compared the the legit junkies on ePack.

I understand what you are saying, but if they paid for them last year should they not have been inserted into last years product as a redemption? So were all of these cards (good or bad) never even possible to hit in the product? Was that something they advertised?

If they are falling nearly 50% of the time what does that mean in terms of the entire print run of the product. How watered down must it be to accommodate 50% of last years autographs as well as all of the ones from this year? How many of this year's autographs will not be inserted into packs and no one will know?

To me I think that update autos should only be inserted into products once they have passed their redemption period.

I agree, but I’m guessing redemptions are a major headache for them and putting last year’s autos into the product is the lesser of two evils. They can also advertise the product as having very little to no redemptions. I know of a few Dallas players that do not have autos in this years release and I am looking forward to getting them in next years product. If I had the redemptions, after 3 months of waiting I would be blowing up their email asking where they are or for a replacement. More man hours for UD so perhaps adding them into next years boxes is a smarter move for them. Not collectors though. By releasing the checklist ahead of time they are covering their arses by letting you what autos there are, and how many there are from last year. At one auto per box this year it is almost guaranteed. Which sucks if you don’t do your research.
 
This is by far the worst case I have opened in many years. Spent $2400 like everyone else and would be lucky to get back $200. 16 box case and best auto was a Robertson base auto...brutal. Stay away.

One of the best products ever and boxes are still undervalued. Live Ovi and Crosby Auto RC's plus all 2006 RC's...can not beat it.

As long as collectors keep buying this crap the quality of these products will remain poor. I LOVE breaking wax, and can pop for these case prices, but the value is insulting and has been for a long time.

Also agree. I sometimes wonder if that GNR tune Mr Brownstone is about busting packs, boxes and cases.
