I have a chance to get a 09/10 btp pelle Lindbergh gold pad card true 1/1 but my concern is it has the best of hockey stamp on the right top corner now.does this stamp take away from its value at all.i am kinda of concerned that they have now wrecked a 1/1 card with this stamp now.is it worth as much with the stamp on it now or is it now a defaced true 1/1 card.what kind of value would you put on such a card now.opinions would be appreciated.thanks

From what I have seen - and have bought a few times - the "Best of Hockey" stamp is a MAJOR detractor from value. This was entirely predictable and why I thought it was a bad idea when announced. I bought a Sakic Gold 1/1 from a fellow board member for $30! Without the stamp, that's at least a $100 card, probably $150. Yes, he gave me a good deal on it, but I doubt he would have gotten more than $50 in any case.

Plus, we don't even know really if that was the 1/1 that was inserted into packs or the 1/1 (that may have been produced once, twice, more times? who knows?) that was held for customer service or to be used in a redemption program that never materialized, or, or, or...you get the point.

For me, the bottom line has come down to this: I assume that any 1/1 from pre-Leaf ITG might in fact be one-of-several, which may dictate how much I am willing to pay for it, especially in the context of having an eye towards future resale value. If all I want is a piece of that player's memorabilia on a card, I'll pay whatever it's personally worth to me without regard to its (dubious) scarcity. I believe others are doing the same; for whatever reason, that "Best of Hockey" stamp is a definite detriment.

everyone looks at this different but in my opinion that's not a 1/1. Have a few so called pack released 1/1's only to find out there was another exact copy and then later released in another product with a stamp. Again everyone is different but I don't view the gold cards I have anymore as a true 1/1 let alone a stamped version but hey, that's your call

i'd say one of those major Lindburgh collectors in Sweeden has the other pack released copy. Either way it's a piece of his pad and if that's what you want good luck acquiring it for your PC

I would say #1 - As mentioned above, yes that stamp takes away from it's value significantly.

#2 - If that's a card you are interested in, still try and acquire it, but for a lower price. Either way it will still be an awesome card

person wants $200 for it and that is to much in my opinion also.i agree with all the above with the stamp taking away from it value.and it isn't the true 1/1 pack pulled card from the original release.thanks for all the input

I used to enjoy collecting 1/1 or gold versions, etc. of ITG items and pre the going out of business of ITG, I might have paid close to $200 for such a rare item. Now I stay away from almost all of the releases. I have picked up a few things here or there at inexpensive prices, but the reality is that who knows what is really a 1/1 or not and like another post said, I value the card accordingly (and go along with what the rest of the market thinks). Now, I might pay $50 for a stamped card like that at the most. That is just my opinion, and if you really want the card, you will just pay accordingly.
