I'm going to piggyback off of Kevin's post about the Rocket auto. His auto got pretty shaky when he got older and more frail, but in his day, he had one of the best old-timer autos out there.
I give it a 10/10 for legibility and style. The ones I have:

My next auto is from a player who is notorious for having a crappy auto as time went on: Roberto Luongo
He started out having a pretty nice auto actually. Check out this 1997-98 Bowman (not my card). It is pretty nice and even legible.
I give this an 8.5/10
Here is my Luongo auto card when he still had a fairly good auto, but starting to get shortened up: 1999-2000 Upper Deck Jersey Auto
I give this a 6/10
And here is his more current, really shortened up version on a 2019-20 Chronology card (not my card).
I give this a 2/10...and that's being generous!

Here is mine of another old timer auto. I think Ted Kennedy was in his late 70's but still has a legible auto and includes his Nickname. I would give it a 9/10. This is from the 2003-04 Original 6 Toronto set!

My next auto is that of Glenn Resch. What I like about his auto, he actually puts his nickname "Chico" in the auto.
I give the auto a 9/10
I got to meet and talk to him at length after a Wild-Devils game in St. Paul many years ago. I was at Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub after the game, and he walked in while I was talking to Tom. We talked a lot about his college days at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and his career. What a super nice personable guy!
