Predict the next Leafs Trade or acquisition

Brodeurs style of play is exclusively based on the devils system. In addition, i really think New Jerseys success this year was an anomaly.

Brodeur will be a massive let down anywhere outside of New Jersey, and IMO it's clear as day.

Why would Brodeur come to Toronto? He's on his last legs. I'm sure he's going to want to go to a team that has a chance of achieving something

Some TSN insider was saying that Florida is in the mix on Brodeur. I think he's just looking to play a couple more years, somewhere.

Interesting that you bring that up because a lot of people credit the Devils system/trap/defensive style of play to Brodeur's success. Not that I agree or disagree with that argument (I personally think it's a combination of system and his talent), but it defenitely would be interesting to see how he handles himself in a non New Jersyesque system.

I hear ya, i just watch him play in this NHL where goaltending is all about staying upright and square (covering as much net as possible) while being very agile side to side, and I don't see Brodeur outside of his comfort zone (Devils) being successful.

The Maple Leafs have signed forward Jay McClement to a two-year contract, and defenceman Mike Kostka to a one-year contract. Toronto also inked Matt Frattin to a two-year contract, and Ryan Hamilton, and Jussi Rynnas to one-year contracts Sunday.

..... and in late breaking news Leafsfan1967 just broke both his ankles.:crazy:

Maple Leafs sign forward Aucoin and blueliner Gysbers

Aucoin, 33, spilt last 12 season between the Washington Capitals and the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears. The 5-9, 187-pound forward registered 11 points (three goals, eight assists) and a plus-four rating (+4) in 27 games with the Capitals. He appeared in 14 playoff games for Washington, collecting two assists and two penalty minutes.

Gysbers, 25, played 68 games for the AHL's Toronto Marlies last season, posting 29 points with 20 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating (+13). He ranked first among Marlies' defencemen in goals, assists and points in the regular season. He also appeared in 17 playoff games for the Marlies, registering a goal, an assist and eight penalty minutes.

Staios retires and joins Maple Leafs' front office

The Hamilton native, who spent 18 seasons in the NHL, has been named Toronto's new player development adviser.

Staios, 39, will advise the Leafs management team on the prospects and players at all levels of the organization.

He will also take on special assignments for both the amateur and pro scouting departments.

Staios spent last season with the New York Islanders, recording eight assists in 65 games.

He finishes his career with 56 goals and 164 assists in 1,001 games with Boston, Vancouver, Atlanta, Edmonton, Calgary and the Islanders.

Staios said it was time to "move on to a news chapter in my life."

tim thomas would be an interesting one. Mayor Rob Ford would love him due to his political beliefs. Considering Tim's political views and penchant for putting those and himself before the team, I cannot see Brian Burke wanting to bring him in.

Kadri they need to play him or get some good players for him...

Kadri needs a shot though

Shane Doan?
Getzlaf would make a nice addition. I would like to see Luongo come, but I think Burke is gonna hold out and go with the youngsters.
We have too many mid level players, need to 1 or 2 top level players that can add immediate impact to the team.
