My newest "whitewhale" is more of a "ghost whale" since I didn't know it existed till three days ago.Here it is-

Not sure if I ever told the story here but I've literally missed this card almost ten times with being out-sniped numberous times, someone getting one from under me when I thought I had a deal, my computer frezzing just as I was going to click the 'Place Bid' button on ebay and just plain missing one that ended up going for $12 when I was waiting for it to end (Had the ending time wrong). Might not seem like much of a white whale to some people but I think what makes a card a white whale is more the story of the chase as opposed to what card it is. I wanna give a shout out again to Heidi (lucky20) who made this deal really easy and sent the cards way faster than I expected. Can't believe I finally got one of these cards. Well without further ado here it is.

That's Sweet......Still need one of those for my PC ... Sorry too say,I've never seen a Gold #15 with anything other than white ..

Lol...between Zetty's soaring prices this season and our wonderful State's economy, I guess "poor Zetty collector" is a bit more accurate. Seriously though, I was able to work a cash/trade deal with Sean, so it wasn't all bad (although it did cost me a couple Zetty's of my own ).

Actually, if you're referencing the Yzie patch /15, that one is actually going out in a different deal, which is still in progress ...Sean just got a couple Zetty's (SPGU jsy/auto /18 buyback and ITGU jsy/auto /10).

About 4 years ago I was searching high and low for this card after release as I really liked the look of these cards and really wanted the Iginla. Well about 6 months after it came out and with no sign of a single copy popping up ANYWHERE, someone on the other site offered me a copy for $60. At the time I didn't have a big card budget and I was literally picking up most of my Iginla autos for between $5 and $10 a card, so paying $60 for a hockey card was way too much for me and I passed. Fast forward to last week. After 4 years of not even having a sniff of this card or even hearing of another Iginla collector having one locking in their PC it popped up on Ebay and I knew I HAD to get it. Beckett has always stated this with a print run of 24 in their mag but this was only the second I've ever seen pop up and I search Ebay like a fiend. Once the card showed up the seller had a little note with the card saying Upper Deck sent this as a replacement for an unfulfilled redemption, found that pretty interested. Well enough storytelling, here is the beauty!

Been looking for this for a while, and almost lost it with too low a snipe. Ending price $81 plus shipping. BV hi price is at $60. This is Bob Gainey's only certified auto. He does not ever sign, so a rare auto indeed, that may be under-valued! This seller had a Larry Robinson, and a Bryan Trottier, but I had to let them go to get this.
