Show your rarest card

Well, of course any 1/1 card is the rarest, but for a card not serial numbered, I would have to say these two cards I have...first, a 2003-04 Upper Deck Snipers Patch Gaborik. I have only seen two. Mine below and one other that a member here has (I think he was doing the Patch sets that year).

2003-04 UD Snipers Patch Gaborik:

And this 2004-05 UD All-World Auto Gaborik is the only one I have ever seen!

EDIT: I found my scan of the other 2003-04 UD Snipers Patch Gaborik. In Clay's collection:

Not seen too many of these.

Also these 2 from the 02/03 Tough Customers;

This one is not hand numbered, but supposed to be out of 25. I have only ever seen one other Level 2.

And the Gretzky here from the regular Level 1 set, nearly impossible to find. I don't think there are even 25 of these.

I know of maybe 3 more from the set of 4 out there. They're /50, but I'm not so sure.

I have only ever seen 2 copies of this card. luckily i have the 1st copy to land and got it for dirt cheap. not sure if the Rene Bourque collector has found a copy for himself yet

This MVP card still eludes me to this day!

I haven't seen this one offered anywhere #/16. I was fortunate enough to grab this extra copy from a fellow Linden collector.

As far as Sedins go, asides from the obviously rare x/3, x/2, 1/1 stuff, these are the toughest cards to come across...

From 1998-99 Swedish Upper Deck Choice, the regular dual jersey is a fairly tough card to find on its own, but the autographed version at 1 in 38095 packs almost never surfaces (believe most of the copies that exist are in Swedish hands). Interestingly, I believe this is still the only card featuring GU jerseys that Sedins have signed on the jersey itself (Prime apparently had Genuine Marks - autographed nameplates on their checklist, but I have yet to see a single one surface and am beginning to wonder if they were made at all).

And the other virtually impossible to find cards - the McDonalds jersey x/100 is by far the toughest x/100 card of the Sedins, it's been years since I've seen one surface, and I finally landed the patch x/5 this year (from what I've heard at least another 3 of them are buried deep in PC's of hardcore McDonalds collectors - and these guys are a special breed of collector, McD's prices make 'regular 1/1 shield cards' seem cheap).

I will play and I know Curt has one of these.

I have not seen another one of these. I wonder if there is even 21 of these floating around at all.

I'll throw a couple out, starting with...
Jan09pickups.jpg

I've seen a few of these poke around - the printing plates a collector purchased during the Pacific auction and sold on ebay for a while.

hky9596_Parkhurst24k_Selanne.jpg

Very, very rarely do I see these - the Parkhurst 24k's - show up

hky36_Monarchs.jpg

And even more rare are cards like this - UK cigarette cards for hockey.

I could probably make a list of 100 cards I have that I've never seen more than one copy of. Even lots of unnumbered stuff like OPC Blank Backs, 09-10 Champs colored backs, Victory Blacks. But I'll show a couple that hold special place in my heart.

For the Avs RC collection and/or Brett Clark PC. Might sound crazy, but I've never seen another of these Golds without an auto. I know set collectors, Avs collectors and Habs collectors looking for this card. Just found one a few months back, and until that, I seriously doubted it was out there.

Even back in the day, these didn't show up very often, and I've seen way less than 10 of all of them. Just ask sedinfan, who has every card on the planet but would probably kill for the Canucks version of this card.

Wow. I just made a post without an Avs card in it. I'm so ashamed... but I'll have to think on it a little more. Or check out the cards in my signature. You don't see 05-06 Artifacts Gold 1/1s every day...

Yes that 03-04 Signature Series Yeam Quads is insanely rare and expensive, I unfortunately missed one recently because of its price....

But my rarest non 1/1 card should be this
97-98%20Score%20Penguins%20Premier.jpg

I has been a Tommy-B collector since 1996 and it was the very first time for me to see that card a 97-98 Score Penguins Team Issue Premier Club and I was luckly to win the card at ebay recently.

edit: sorry for the large scan, can anyone resize it for me?

Only one that has surfaced that either Craig or I know of. It came up on eBay, made a reasonable offer, seller accepted. he even threw in the regular RC.

If I threw this up on ebay (which is NOT going to happen) I would definitely make some great coinage.

Wellwood5-10.jpg

dear Spudboy: I have it, you don't. :D

=================================
I could show a bunch of 03/04 BD Signature Gems - the only confirmed Sp is the Roy, but there are definitely a few players more SPd than the 24 copies for Roy.

Believe it or not, this was the last regular jersey I needed for the set. it took amost 3 years after release to get it. I can't really confirm this (given it is a common player and not many could have been listed), but I think it is actually an SP and that there are less than each of the parallels. Could be wrong, but they sure weren't plentiful at the time.

Ive seen a couple of these over the years but they dont show up very often for a card /999, they where a redemption so I think not to many got redeemed because when they do show up on the bay they go for more than you would think
s8-1.jpg

and this one of course, never seen another copy
scan0001-2.jpg

and this one, well lets just say the ITG says its a SP
scan0004.jpg

I have a couple more but those are my favorites that are non numbered or numbered more than 10

At one time I had the entire 1998-99 UD Jersey set....except for the dual auto Sedins. I had both Auto Gretzkys, and even the Bobby Hull #/9. I actually had two of the dual non-auto Sedins. But that dual auto Sedin card is what forced me to breakup the set and sell most of it. I just couldn't go another decade without it. :foottap: I still have a lot of the lesser jersey cards.

But you're right...that dual auto Sedin jersey was killer tough!!!

And don't get me going on the McDonalds cards. A different collector base all their own. Shocked I was even able to find these two Gaboriks (jersey and auto). I know I'll never see a Patch version (if any were even redeemed). If any of you McDonalds collectors here on HI has a Gaborik Patch, at least show me a scan of it to let me know one exists. Please!! :D

The Gold version here is very rare as ITG added second limited autograph cards of some players that were traded after the set release, there was never a print number released but I heard rumours of /20 for the silvers and /5 for the golds.

my best,

Ken
