So what's "Topps Skate" ??

Yeah, not surprised at all. After spending a lot of time trading the past few days and coming across some high level accounts it's so obvious that there are some HUGE spenders out there. Guys with scores of 99, 130,000+ cards, full gold sets and multiple golds (some cases up to a half dozen) of the highest scoring players like Brent Burns, every insert ever released, and ungodly amounts of dupes of all colors. One of these guys alone was sitting on 20+ teals of guys I'd been trading for like Matthews and McDavid. No way in hell an account like that gets so stacked by everyday trading and pack opening. That dude must be well into the thousands spent in the app and probably on eBay as well.

Meanwhile I've got a whopping two gold cards and I had to trade my *** off the last couple of days to get those. You've got to be into it just for the fun of collecting otherwise competing with these guys is impossible.

I couldn't agree more buddy... all I want is the complete Fleury color pallet... good farkin' luck with that. I'll never own the "Chrome" version, as you need all colors of Series 1 Penguins first... pfft.

If you focus on one player and use the fan chat feed to find trade partners I think you could complete Fleury fairly easily. The key is to hoard the lower level colors like green, red and blue because people usually let them go pretty cheap. Then gradually exchange up through the colors. It slows down once you're into the black, silver and gold tiers but if you grind it out it's usually not as bad as you'd think.

What's your username on Skate?

Not even just being whales, more than likely they'll have the other Topps apps for cross-trading purposes - in other words, trading cards from one app for cards on Skate. It can be a confusing process, and one that is sketchy as heck, but it's definitely something used for inserts.

Ex. Person A on Skate wants Insert X.
Person B has Insert X and wants Insert W on Star Wars.
Person A has Insert W on SW, and will message Person B (usually via a 1:1 trade of a same base card) that they have the card on SW and want Insert X on Skate.
The trade is set up (usually the insert for a base card) on both apps, and cross-trade is complete.

I know a lot of people on SW who complete sets using cross-trading.

I am geschrocks33 on there - if you have any Stastny, Stempniak, or Clutterbuck send em my way for whatever you want of the same color. I really don't pay much attention to the points

I am, imgettingtiredofthinkingupnames on skate look me up. Trying to get rid of everything.

I've enjoyed the Skate app so far to collect and crawl up the colour wall of the Red Wings. The action photos are way better than what UD offers, but I do miss the hard copy version.

However, if you have some time on your hands:
Once you have a card, you can "share" it to sites like google docs. Take them from there, use a little MS Paint (or Photoshop) to get rid of the crap stats on the back, put the images into MS Word in 2" x 3" picture frames, print it on colour photo paper, cut the paper and then glue them to a blank decoy card. Viola, Topps hard copy [not for trade or sale if Topps legal is reading this :) ].

I like the free-ness of it, although Topps got a little money from me from their one-time coin deals. I've had fun trying to get awards to get the free mini-packs, but that's getting old quickly. I use my current and old phone to host two Skate accounts (otmhc and drwhcc) and trade cards back and forth. Take a look at what I have, ask for what you need, leave me some Red Wings.

Martin.

I have 2000 cards now and haven't spent a cent, just make sure you log in every day and get your coins.

My best,

Ken

That's what I've done so far. I did the free UD pack version for a few weeks and stopped out of boredom (no points system, 3 cards in a pack). I ended up 'trading' all my cards to one guy for a dupe he had.

I imagine I will build up my collection on Topps and just feed them to people here who made need them. I'm not into the whole digital card thing, but if it distracts me for a few minutes each day, I'll take it. Maybe someone here can benefit from the bits.

I was able to log into the Bunt baseball app with the same account no problem. Deleted and reinstalled the Skate app and still can't log in.
