The White Envelope thread!

Here is a recent list of the White-envelope bandits that cheaped out on me recently. Adding to your blocked bidders list is probably recommended !!!
As follows:

t_i_sportscards76 s/h $2.50 - Patch card sent in no pennysleeve or toploader

leroidelacarte s/h $2.50 - autograph card with toploader less pennysleeve

gastonzvoyage s/h $2.50 - #'d insert card sent in toploader less pennysleeve

cardsharko7 s/h $2.00 - #'d insert card sent in toploader less pennysleeve

goohuz **s/h $4.00 !!! - high-end auto sent with No toploader, No pennysleeve....and wrapped in a napkin....that's right...a NAPKIN!!!! :(

My advise is stay away from these sellers if you can find the same card elsewhere....and I definitely recommend you block the last seller!!!

I didn't read through the whole thread to see if this guy was reported already, but...

Sent in a whitey (in a toploader), and the card is all sorts of creased. It was only $5 US total, but he charged $3.00 US for a $.96 CAN stamp with PWE. Avoid buying from this tool.

I got one yesterday ...

Ebay ID: www-card-masters-com

Card arrived safe in penny sleeve and top loader, was charged $2.50 but here's the kicker the envelope has a metered stamp from a postal machine on it for 00.52 cents

Ditto. Only mine didn't come in a top-loader. It was wrapped in crappy baseball cards.

I'll dig out mine, I've been white eveloped twice in the last month.

If you look at feedbacks, I'll add a WE before feedback so I can go back and check who did it to me.

Ebay issue... Lettermen mailed in a PWE

Well I made an offer on this card: Clay Wilson Black Lettermen "L"
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=350104029095&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=022

4$ shipped to the us.

Well today I see that i have one of those, Sorry your mail was inadvertently damaged in handling by the postal service.

I first thought, well that sucks, bubble envelope was probably damaged, hopefuly the card was well protected and not damaged.

Then I looked closely through the window of the postal service envelope and I realized that it was a PWE. Well I know that the only cards that I had incoming from canada were Lettermen so I was a little taken aback.. Then though well if its in a plastic case might still be okay.

Open the envelope and outside of the PWE as it was almost torn in half, i would guess by the sorting machine, so the card did not stay in the evelope, oh and .92 cent shipping for the card.

Well its a team bag with two kinda thick cards and i can see my Lettermen in the middle of them, and the whole stack is bent, not really bad but diffently bent. I figured that well that should leave a nice crease.

Opened it up and the two thick cards were both creased but the Lettermen was not creased, just bent a little in the middle.. but no crease. Probably just put it under a stack of phonebooks and it will be fine.

Its like, I just don't know what to think about it. I checked out their feedback and most talk about how well the cards were packaged and such. The seller has over 4,000 feedbacks....I still can't believe the way that the card was packaged...

Wow. That's brutal. Send him a message saying that you're not at all happy with the way the card was shipped, and even though the damage is minor and probably reparable, you'd like him to refund you for the shipping overcharge. No response in 48 hours, nail him a neutral feedback and label him a PWE shipper.

FOR SURE... C'mon standard practice to use bubble enveloppes, what was this guy thinking???? It is GOOD and LUCKY your card was not destroyed, but for sure get your shipping back for that, people complain I charge 3.50 for shipping but bubble enveloppe, stamps, penny sleve, top loader I certainly dont make anything from shipping, this guy is a bum, get it back

With that many sales and 100% feedback... I would have to think he will make you happy on this situation. No need to jump to any sort of conclusion or get to fired upon before hearing from the seller.

Yeah, I have not left feedback yet... he did respond
I'm sorry to hear that send the card back to me and I will give you a full refund. You also do realize shipping costs have gone up. I have maybe onw issue with the post office every two or three years. If I had packed that card in another type of plastic the shipping charges then go up about $3.00 . Again I apoligize the UD black cards are hard to find packaging for. Send the card back will give full refund.....
Sure I can go and ship it back and then just lose what it costs to ship it back for the refund, but i need the card and its in good shape. He has alot of sales but most are not in the last year... but still 4$ shipping for a patch card in a PWE... I told him that the way the card was packaged was fine if he had put it in a bubble mailer and not in a PWE... so I guess he figured that .92 cents shipping was much better for him than having to pay closer to the 4$ that he charged for shipping...

I've never reported a white envelope (PWE) before, but this one annoys me.

I bought a card from ebay seller "cardsharklaura". The listing indicated she ships in a bubble mailer, and she charges $3.29 USD to ship one card within Canada. A bit high, but still within the realm of resonableness.

I receive the ard yesterday, and it it sloppily packaged in a top loader with tape around it and in a PWE. The card was stuck to the packing tape that she wrapped around the top loader because it wasn't pinched shut.

When I emailed her questioning the $3.29 charge for a $0.52 stamp, she defended her actions and said this is how most sellers do business becuase of ebay/paypal fees. I corrected her that this is NOT how most sellers do business, and advised that she delete the part of her listing where she refers to a bubble mailer.

I ended up leaving a positive with this comment, even though I should have left a neutral:
"$3.29 USD S&H for a $0.52 CAD stamp in a regular envelope?"

Hi, this word "white envelope" is quite funny as I ship always in NEW WHITE BUBBLE ENVELOPES! And they are the most expensive + best envelopes here. Even better than those normally used in card mailings:)
Marko, Finland

p.s. I do understand that this means envelopes without any protection for cards etc.
still I keep using these "white" ones:)

marko,

everyone means, the normal rectangular envelopes you mail letters in. not the white bubble mailers you use. those are good. :) the regular envelopes are sorted by machine and are much more likely to ruin the card. the bubble envelopes are hand sorted and don't go through the same rolling motion the sorting machines put the letter envelopes through. hope this explains it a little better.

Here's another one to add to the growing list:

I never understood people that stuff cards between holders...

here's an idea, how about putting them INSIDE the holders

Here is one for the list although it was not a "white envelope" it was a manila envelope with no bubbles in it. The type we all got our report cards in... had a large tare in it. Paid 3.00 for the shipping cost him 0.62 to ship it. sent him a pm to inquire about it. well see.
