Doesn’t these come out around the end of September? Anyone know if these are happening again this year?
Love the Canadian tire set. Still looking to complete my set after my summer break
There are still tons of Canadian Tire packs at some stores... one in Brampton still has over 300 boxes in stock... It was a nice set, but may have been a tad overproduces for the distribution channel it used.
Timmy's is a decent set, and in time will likely gain the same following as Mickey D. Canadian Tire could also gain momentum this way.
My concern is that these represent hobby dollars being pulled away from hobby shops. While I get the "brand exposure" and "introductory product" arguments, I haven't heard that this has translated to an influx of customers for hobby shops.

I really hope they keep producing this set. Agreed that it could develop a cult following like the McDonald's cards.
In my opinion, I think the exposure that Tim's gives hockey cards is wonderful for the hobby. Consider that the remaining sports card shops are predominantly in larger cities, then consider how far reaching into rural Canada Tims is. Growing up in rural PEI, McDonald's, gas stations and the odd Buck or Two were the only places I could buy packs. McDonalds packs were affordable and available. If I were growing up in my community now, I'd be a regular at the Tims looking for packs, especially considering that gas stations and dollar stores around here don't seem to carry packs anymore.
In PEI there is 1 small hobby shop in Charlottetown. There are upwards of 25-30 Tim Hortons all across the province. I think that reach is invaluable to getting people into the hobby.
Getting a little off topic here, but I don't know if there's anything you can do to drive new collectors to these hobby shops. I'm 27 and McDonalds cards were a big factor getting me into the hobby. Getting into the hobby for me was these message boards, online trading and ebay. There simply has never been a good enough reason for me to go out of my way to frequent a hobby shop. There are Tims Hortons Hockey Card facebook groups with a surprising amount of activity in trading and selling. In my opinion, that is growth in today's market.
Sept 25, 2018 is the day I heard for Tim's.
Nice how a thread gets off track..
