I caved.. I finally gave up.. After over 3 years of waiting on my 06/07 Gretzky LetterMark and ~2.5 years for my 2x 07/08 Iginla NumberMarks I finally asked for replacements.. They sat in the queue for close to 4 months before finally arriving today via Fedex.

Here's the exact cards that were replaced. Gotta say I was starting to panic when the first couple cards were revealed..

Also fair warning. Anyone doing the 09/10 SPA SOTT set prepare yourself. The unreleased, not on the checklist cards have now started to get released..

5/18/2007 WAYNE GRETZKY
06/07 NHL SPGU LETTER MARKS AUTO # TO 50 CD# LM-WG
2/22/2008 JAROME IGINLA
2007-08 SP GAME USED HOCKEY NUMBER MARKS VARIED #ING CD# NM-JI
3/18/2008 JAROME IGINLA
2007-08 SP GAME USED HOCKEY NUMBER MARKS VARIED #ING CD# NM-JI

In order of me seeing them.

07/08 OPC Buyback auto. Came with authenticity card

Here's the SPA SOTT - Not on the checklist..

Lanny McDonald SPX FF - Wish I had been given this card back in 05/06 when these were hot.

I can assume that the previous three cards were in exchange for one of the Iginla's. The Lanny books at 150 and the Iginla also books at $150.

The next one is replacement for the Gretzky Lettermarks. Pretty happy with this one. I'll trade an auto on a manufactured patch of a superstar for a dual auto any day. Especially these two guys.

And last but not least another replacement for the other Iginla. Have never seen this card and I have see Al's collection which contains probably 75% of the known print run for OPC Premier. Hence I am guessing this is yet another unreleased card making its way out through replacements. Great puck/stick mark on the third patch too.

So I'm now finally rid of all of my redemptions. Since I don't really break anything any more I am done with redemptions for good. All are available for the right price but my wife says otherwise. She isn't happy about me selling off my PC to fund the new house purchase. The deck/fence/blinds/etc.. unfortunately don't buy themselves though..

Whats everyone think about the value. No idea on the Iggy since its NPDTS but the other cards are exact on for BV replacement (with the 2 MacInnis' thrown in I guess).

the last 2 cards are nice but i'm not a fan of UD replacing one larger card with 3 smaller ones. still you don't seem like you feel kicked in the balls so i guess that's a good thing.

Normally I am completely with you. But unfortunately if you go by BV the Lanny Flashback fabrics has a $150 BV which is the same as what the Iginla Numbermarks go for.

I don't think they are anywhere the same but unfortunately that seems to be the guide they go by,

Casey, good to see that you did end up getting some solid replacements. The Gretz/Lemieux dual auto and Iggy are pretty sweet!

Jason, you're a mind reader! I don't ever recall seeing one of those Iginla cards Casey, and I'm on eBay every day. I would be very happy with those replacements, some great vintage Flames to go with an awesome Gretz/Lemieux. Four months in the queue you say, and here I was all excited because I've got some redemptions being pulled packaged & prepared dated July 2. I'll send you a pm tomorrow with some comparative pricing for the Iggy card.

First off, that dual auto is fantastic, and I like the Iginla.
But I have a question that I'm sure is fairly common knowledge. The dual auto is serial numbered, meaning (I'd hope) that there are only a select number (35, is it?) made, and that each one is numbered differently. However, UD, here, seems to have some on hand. Does this mean that UD intentionally holds onto some, thereby lowering the true amount available via packs? Or are there multiples on each individual serial number floating around after replacements?

I think I'd also be happy with that Casey! I, like Al, check ebay for Iginla stuff numerous times a day and I have never seen that OPC Premier card they sent you.

Hope you make Al pay out the nose for that one!! :D

There are few ways these cards become available. When UD makes any print run, they are required by law to hold back a certain amount of cards for NPN. So yes, initially not every card gets packed out. When the NPN period expires, anything they have not sent out becomes available as a redemption replacement. Secondly, when UD receives their packaged boxes/cases from the company they've outsourced this work to, they bust a few cases of every product to QC to collation. Any cards pulled during those breaks go to the redemption replacement pile. Lastly, redemptions that are requested to be replaced sometimes do actually get turned in from the players. If UD has already sent out a replacement, the original card is now available.

The Lanny FF regular sells for $40, unfortunately... so while the "book" value says $150, it's nowhere near that. However, I think they provided you some good value there with the remaining cards.

I still want to see the data from Beckett that shows Lanny selling for $150 (or $200, as it was shown for ages before they finally dropped it slightly).

Congrats on the nice cards, Casey!
