walmart mega boxes

My friend and I got 2 each off line last night. He went to our wal mart first thing this morning and got three more, my brother also went this morning and got one each for my sons. Said there were a dozen boxed on the shelf when they got there. I am seeing some posts on facebook of people who were buying them at full price with the intention of taking the back today and get a refund on the difference. Not sure how wal marts return policy works ?

I chatted with him on the way to the checkout and he was on his way to a number of other stores in our area.

Good luck to anyone trying to pick some up in person today... I’ve got a feeling it’s too good a deal to last long.

Yikes. Was planning on stopping by tomorrow. Guess I’ll be out of luck....

Walmart has a 30 day policy on returns like that.If you buy it on Tuesday for $60 and the sale flyer has it at $30.00 Then simply go back with your receipt and they will issue a refund for the difference.

In the discussion I am following, some one mentioned that does not apply to sports cards, they are non refundable.....arguments going both ways on the topic now.

It's not about refunds. If anything goes on sale within 30 days of your purchase, you can go back with your receipts and get your money back for the difference

Last year I was into Walmart the day before the sale.I bout 60 boxes. I did not know about this policy.So when I seen the flyer I went holy crap I should have waited an extra day.I called my bother-in-law who is a manager at a different Walmart and that is when I found out about this Walmart policy. I did not return my cards,I had already opened them all.I just went back with the receipt and there was no issue what so ever. They refunded the difference to me. Now it maybe that different store do things differently. But you are not returning the cards.Which very well may be if you buy a box of cards and try and return it.But I was not returning anything.Only looking for the difference in price.

Got a couple on day one last year.......wife went up to get me another a couple days later and they were sold out...manager subbed this instead.
 
Haven't seen any cards at all yet here in Maine, but hockey cards don't sell here like they do in Canada. Series 1 of last year's product was still on the shelf this summer.
 
The closest Walmart is 70km away. If I can't get any online at the sale price, I'll stay away. It would be fun to get Lafreniere YG, but I'm pretty sure I can land Belzile and Evans YGs + some Habs Dazzlers inserts in trades :)

I bought a couple of mega boxes when they first became available on the website. Called customer service today and they refunded me price difference between what I paid and the Black Friday price.

I might try and see if I can get a rain cheque for some more boxes. In the 2 that I opened I hit 6 Young Guns and a Byram Young Guns Canvas as well as 2 red parallels from the bonus packs.
 
I went to 3 stores this morning and they were completely wiped out. No megas, no blasters, no fat packs. I understand people taking the megas, based on the black Friday price, but everything else was a head shake for me. I was at one of the stores last night and it was completely stocked. There was so much series 1 I felt like it was 2015 again with McDavid. I thought...no problem, I'll just come back tomorrow morning & get some. Wrong. Lol.

I was at the Deerfoot Meadows Walmart in the south around 6:00PM last night and they still had fat packs for $8 and regular blasters at $32. Try there today if you have time.
 
My brother grabbed me a couple mega blasters, a couple for himself and couple for gifts yesterday. I think he said Southland Drive Wallmart (Calgary) had piles of them in the afternoon.
 
I bought 7 megas on Tuesday. I tried going back to get the difference in price adjusted and they were trying to do it, but the computer woudn't let them. I phoned customer service and they tell me that they can't price adjust their black Friday prices. I guess I am sol.

Update: I asked for a manager. He couldn't do the price adjustment, but agreed to give me the difference in the sale price of more product when I suggested it. I went back when I knew the shelves get stocked and he gave me 8 free megas to make up the difference. I bought a few more also and pulled two Lafreniere's. Unfortunately, many of my YG's had the rounded corners as well.

They started that last year. They raised the prices and reduced the young guns. It pretty much made series 1 blasters a waste of money. Series 2 was strong enough to hold its own especially with the oversized young guns. You can do one, but not both. Raise the price a little, sure, but don't reduce the young guns knowing full well that they are the only thing holding any value in the retail stuff.

Yep, I got hosed on two tins last year, then read the fine print and found out they weren't 3 young guns per tin anymore.
