WCF: Detroit vs. Dallas

How is it using his stick as a weapon? I've seen guys get teeth knocked out, cuts all over their face, broken orbital bones, etc from butt ends. I can't believe anyone would say what Ozzy did wasn't as bush league and dangerous as what Ribeiro did. Ribeiro hit him in the chest protector, Ozzy hit him in the face. What's worse? To me, a shot to the unprotected face with the stick is way worse then a shot to the chest protector.

Here's the video, watch at 1:31, the play clock was already at 0:00 and Osgood gets the butt end of his stick into Ribeiro's face when Ribeiro is skating by. All I'm saying is for Wings fans to stop crying foul and saying what Ribeiro did was suspendable. Osgood brought it on himself, and both he and Ribeiro are both lucky that's all that happened. Thank goodness Ribeiro didn't hit him in the head or it really would have turned ugly and the league doesn't need it all over the national news like the Simon and McSorley incidents.

Holy crap dude watch the video yourself. Osgood stuck the stick out to slow his arse down so he doesn't make a run at a defenseman when the game is already over. Why is Ribeiro still going that fast when the horn already sounded??? What's he supposed to think he's going in to congratulate the d-man?? You are making Osgood out to be like Hextall or something. No mention of what Turco has done either!! Blatent slashes from that guy and you call what Osgood did bad????

What Wings fans have said Ribeiro deserved to get suspended?? Not me! I don't think he does. Is he an idiot though? Hell yes! Osgood did nothing any other goalie in the league does at least once a game. Ribeiro swung his stick like an idiot!

Um, why not use your own logic here? If he was so worried abotu Ribeiro running someone, why not drop his blocker and glove, grab Ribeiro and start trhowing punches instead of using his stick? I don't want to argue with you, but you say Ribeiro is a bad guy for using his stick, but Osgood isn't? You yourself said using a stick is bush league and you should not use it right? SO why is Osgood OK to use his stick in any manner instead of being a man and using his fists or just grabbing Ribeiro to keep him from the pile? Your "logic" is rather hypocritical.

That's just a moronic statement! You are comparing someone sticking a stick out to slow a guy down to someone swinging a stick 2 handed at someone! It's not like Osgood tomahawked the guy as he skated by (which is what you are describing it like). He stuck a stick out to slow a guy down. Worst case scenario he gets 2 for hitting him in the face or a 4 for drawing blood. Ribeiro swung 2 handed at a guys chest with the stick.

Well, I didn't read any of the suspension nonsense because I really wasn't surprised that nobody got suspended... It's the Red Wings, nobody ever gets suspended when they play the Red Wings... except for maybe one game for Pronger who had an absolutely vicious hit on Holmstrom that would have got 10 games by any other player against any other team...

Ok, now that I am done that Rant...

One win away from the Stanley Cup finals!!! Woooooo Hoooooo... I absolutely LOVE the fact that they are still taking it to Dallas without the Mule even making an appearance the past two games! I am thinking they are not going to hurry the Mule back to play game 4 of this series!

What a defensive dominance of the Stars by the Wings and an absolutely MEDIOCRE outing by Turco all three games...

I wonder what kind of cheap stuff the Stars are gonna try next game? Maybe they will play a little more maturely and just bow out gracefully... and maybe later that night some cows will fly over the moon... :eek:
