Your Hobby Goals & Resolutions For 2025

Ha! I feel like I'm somewhat on the same journey as Billie is, though different reasons. I need to figure out how to move/sell off my Yzerman collection. I've been kicking that around for a couple years now and I think I'm at the point where I'm actually willing to do it. Though I haven't figured out the best path yet. But I suppose if I were to set an actual goal, that would be it.

It would help if I could actually GET TO my collection, but alas, my child is not so cooperative with the cleaning up process.

I have a semi-secret set that I'm going for, would like to reach 75% of it by the end of 2024. Perhaps a bit ambitious, but we'll see.
FAILED! - Was definitely ambitious, I reached about 61%

4)
Have two wrestling autos from the famous 1998/99 WCW/NWO set high on my wantlist. Will like to add ONE of those two in 2024.
SUCCESS! - I tracked down 1 of the 2

5)
Would like to add yet another game worn jersey to my collection. I will be downsizing the bulky parts of my collection in 2024, but still want to add a gamer.
SUCCESS! - I added 1 gamer this year

6)
Some of these goals are stepping on each other, as I have various wantlists that intersect, BUT I do have a master 150 card wantlist that I keep, and I would like to knock off 40 total cards from that big list.
FAILED! - I only knocked off 19 cards...spend my money buying other nonsense.

Lastly, I actually accomplished this goal in 2023, but I want to try it once more. I will try not to open ANY boxes again this year. I know it's a bit of a fun killer, but we'll see how it goes.

2025 HOBBY GOALS

1) Find ONE of the 4 Mikhail Grabovski (playing years) cards on my wantlist.

2) Get down to 10 cards or less on my Andrea Bargnani non 1/1 rookie wantlist. (Currently sitting at 11)

3) Find the last autograph from the famous 1998/99 WCW/NWO set that's on my wantlist!

4) Like I mentioned last year, I have a semi-secret set that I'm going for, would like to reach 80% of it by the end of 2025.

5) I re-did my giant wantlist for 2025, condensing it to 100 total cards. I'd be very happy to cross 25 cards off this year.

6) I'm kind of repetitive on these goals every year, but i'd like to add another game used jersey to the collection.

7) I've been having lots of fun on COMC lately, I'd like to sell 1000 cards and/or do $5k in sales on that platform this year. Small fry compared to some people, but would be huge for me.

I think 7 is more than enough. Above all, I want to remain wise with my spending, and just be healthy, and have a wonderful 2025. Happy New Year everyone!

2024 Resolutions

1) Purge all Non PC items
Life changing event prevented me from purging this past year!
2) Organize my PC collection.
Organized a major part of my PC
3) Acquire 13 cards for my PC Sets of Autos & Memorabilia.
Exceeded my goal
2001-02 UD Mask Collection #'d 150, 100, 50 = 11 cards for the rainbow and 1 for a subset.
2004-05 ITG Franchises = 11 cards. One card completed the East series Trophy Winners.
2011-12 ITG Broad Street Boys = 4 cards plus 1 upgrade.
2012-13 ITG Motown Madness = ZERO
2013-14 ITG Lord Stanley Mug = 7 Autographs & 5 Memorabilia cards.

Additional cards acquired
1974-75 Nabisco Sugar Daddy Pro Faces = 1 card
2008-09 UD Champ's Natural History Minis = 30 cards
2011-13 ITG Enforcers I & II = 2011-12 (2) cards, 2013-14 (7) cards. Completed the Dual Combatants set.
2011-22 UD Clear Cut Honoured Members = 10 cards
2017-18 Synergy Green = 3 cards and #IP24 Marc-Andre Fleury completed the subset.
2021-22 OPC Premier Tallboys - Completed my multicolored set.

2025 Resolutions

1) Continue to organize all cards. Sell off Non PC.
2) Not setting a number of cards for this year. Will be happy to complete unfinished sets.
3) These are the Primary sets to add to this year.
2001-02 UD Mask Collection #'d 150, 100, 50
2004-05 ITG Franchises
2011-12 ITG Broad Street Boys
2012-13 ITG Motown Madness
2013-14 ITG Lord Stanley Mug
2011-22 UD Clear Cut Honoured Members - This was a secondary set, now I am going all in to acquire as many as I can.

My Goals for 2025

1. Adler Mannheim Collection: Currently: 1628 cards. Goal: 1640

2. Malmö Redhawks: Currently: 483 Goal: 500

3. Brett Hull Currently: 1477 Goal: 1500

4. Matt Beleskey Currently: 293 Goal: 295

5. Between the Pipes Autographs: Currently: 640 Goal: 675

6. 1x 2013-14 Between the Pipes Complete Jersey from the list

7. 1x 2017-18 Leaf Masked Men 300 Win Club Memorabilia from the list
 
1. Sell some more PC cards that have been supplanted by more premium cards so I can continue to streamline and focus on the best of the best.

2. Find the Larry Murphy Extra Exquisite Gold patch 3/3 to complete the Quincy.

3. Grab the President's Choice Butt End from the Good Doctor (if a sale comes along).

4. Hope for one of the last Motown Madness nameplate (half) letters I need to pop up.

5. Land a new-to-me premium 1/1 I haven't seen in the wild before (may intersect with #4)

6. Land a premium 1/1 I've missed out on in the past.

7. Try to help hobby friends where possible.
 
Quick thing I didn't mention if i somehow manage to get any of the 02-03 be a player all star gold 1/1 s (THAT PPL DONT WANT, not here to ruin player/team collectors), I will donate $25 to HI for each one I get
