Made To Order

That triple SOTT of the Hanson brothers that someone had done a few years ago was one of the coolest cards I ever seen. I would love to own it and would rather have that then almost any real player auto haha.

I created this one years ago

I know someone uses it for their avatar

Didn't see the SOTT ersion

Things I'd like to see:

Similar to 08-09... Ultimate Emblem, Glove and include Pucks with the Auto on the memorabilia. Autographed Stick Racks(auto on stick) Players images if not on the front, perhaps on the back with possibly Current year stats. More Vintage as that list seems to shrink every year(remove Future stars to add more vintage). Auto Threads, Paper cut memorabilia similar to UM5. Include cuts with and without memorabilia of Lord Stanley of Preston, Aurel Joliat, Cyclone Taylor, Newsy Lalonde, Lady Byng, Terry Sawchuk, George Hainsworth, Ace Bailey, Tim Horton, Jacques Plante to name a few. Dual and Triple cuts. Perhaps even Trophy Cuts with players auto and image of the Trophy they won- Gretzy Orr etc.Omit made to order past present future as the same thing can be achieved with other mto's. In place add cut memorabilia made to orders.

Things I dont want to see:

Non hockey memorabilia or auto's, arena seats, future stars

you and i think very much alike...in fact i could'nt have said it better Murray!

we vintage collectors need a vintage insert set of some kind...it's been over 2 years since the last good vintage memorabilia release(superlative V.1)

just my thoughts...

Okay, a couple ideas (might have already been said):

1. A "He Always Gave Me Trouble" set, with a player & a goalie. One of the questions I always ask interview guests is "who was the hardest player to stop their shots" or "which goalie was the hardest to score on". i.e. Marcel Dionne said Tony Esposito. Rogie Vachon said Lanny McDonald.

2. A mask giveaway. Brian, you've said before that cutting up masks can be painful as most disentegrate during the process. What about create a "Mask Redemption" of some sort, where you put 1 or 3 or whatever cards into a set, and the people who get the cards either get an actual game-used mask OR are entered into a prize draw for a certain mask, with those who don't win getting a special mask card?

Thanks for being so open to feedback and ideas Dr Price!

I agree with bringing back some of the older players that other ITG Ultimate releases had memorabilia cards of;
Vezina, Benedict, Morenz, Etc.
Though I do understand these items are rare and pricey!

I love the idea of Mask or Helmet giveaway cards.

I also like the idea of the top 10 Ult sets of all time brought back.

A couple other ideas;
A triple memorabilia card from the 1980 Olympics or Tretiak, Lindbergh, Craig.

A "Past Ten" set highlighting players, teams, & lines who have made an impact, won a Stanley Cup, Won the President's Trophy or Have been inducted into the Hall of Fame in the past 10 years (or since Ultimate Mem 1 came out)

A "Ten" best set with assorted players who rank the top ten all time in certain categories, positions, etc.

The "Ten best" moments in hockey history chosen by a poll of hockey card collectors and hockey experts.

Needless to say, Im looking forward to ITG X!

What would be the perfect pull for Ultimate X? Why, Ultimate X-Rays of course! A subset of the best injuries and fractures in hockey history.

Here's a template you can borrow too, from my ill-proposed ITG OWNED series:

At least your lawyers would love it, if not the fans.

I would love to be able to get a duo patch or auto of the Bruise Brothers Kocur/Probert or Twist/Chase or Dave Brown or Kevin Kaminski. Oh man.

I'll stick my like father like son idea in here. NHL dad that has a kid in the NHL/AHL/CHL Ashtons, Ferraros, Bourques, Statsnys, Musils, Beukebooms, Nystroms, etc.

I was thinking along this idea as well, but with a bit of a twist. Something like "It's All Relative" and go one step further by not using just father and son, but all relations. I thought of this while watching the playoffs the other night. Brent Johnson is related to Sid Abel and is one example. But kinda going with that as a theme. You could probably go back a ways to make some nice Vintage/Current player cards.

An "It's All Relative" is a great way to put a Howie Morenz and Boom Boom Geoffrion on a card together ;) Father-in-law & son-in-law... plus two other generations of Geoffrions.

how about a set of players who have won the Hart consecutively...Morenz, Shore, Howe, Hull, Mikita, Orr, Clarke, Lafleur, Gretzky, Hasek and Ovechkin...small list (11 players) with a nice range in years from early on (morenz and shore) to current (Ovechkin)...just a thought Dr, Price

you could call it Hart to Hart, or something like that

with the 2010 olympics being one of the most watched hockey tournaments of all time, i would love to see something based around the olympics 'top 10 olympic goals', 'top 10 olympic scorers', 'top ten goalies' for example, all numbered to 10. that has to be some pretty big names, for a wide variety of collectors. just a thought.

Ultimate 10:
a set featuring the top ten of all time in a selected group of stats.
Points
Assists
Goals
GAA
Shutouts
Games Played
PIMs
Consecutive Games
Shutouts
Career +/-

There's ten. As of the end of 09-10 season. This way it is relevant, and Set builders have a challenge, while enforcer collectors, goalie collectors, etc. all get a piece of the action!!

Some of the ideas have been great.

Some are interesting but with our licensing issues are not possible.

One that we are working on is is called Ultimate Retrospective.

One design from each of the first nine issues of Ultimate Memorabilia will be repeated and updated.

So with that in mind, what is your favorite design from UM-1 to UM-9.

As always your input is appreciated.
