Quite true, then again, fairly or unfairly, he wasn't given much of a chance to either. I'm certainly not defending his play, which was atrocious last year. Even defensively, which has usually been his strong suit, he looked lost last year, turning over the puck wayyyyyyy too much. Bottom line is, he was misused in Calgary, and I knew he'd play horribly under Mike Keenan, since in reality very few people seem to enjoy success under Iron Mike. He bounced from playing on a line with Iggy and Conroy/Langkow, down to playing with David Moss and Matt Lombardi...sometimes all in the same game....his career stats show that nobody should have expected any more then 70-75 pts from him, but right from day one, Flames fans expected 100-110 pts. The sad thing? Habs fans are going to expect even more, which is unfair. He's much better suited to a 2nd line, out of the spotlight role, not a 1st line sniper role, which is what people seem to expect for 5mil a season.
