Has anyone tried one of these? Saw it at my local Walmart and was curious...seems like UD put it out and there are chances at some pretty neat prizes like full sized auto’d Jerseys and such.

I was tempted to buy one yesterday but then I noticed it was not wrapped in the UD plastic. I checked the bottom of the box and saw that it was repackaged by the same people (MJ Holding I believe) who do all of those style boxes.

Yeah, I almost fell for it too - it definitely seems to present as a UD packaged item, but further examination shows it is repackaged MJ Holdings stuff. I also couldn't find the price easily, which is always a pet peeve of mine in the card aisle at Wal Mart.

So, this will likely be wax returned from stores after being searched within an inch of its (shelf) life, repackaged in an attempt to extract some further revenue.

There's a video someone posted on youtube that opened one, and it was a bunch of UDS1/2 retail packs, a Parkhurst 16-17 pack, and a Centennial Leafs hobby pack. Maybe got $5-$10 worth of cards out of it, at best. Stay away.

From what I've seen on Youtube, you get maybe one Hobby pack and the rest are Retail. The Rookies are those Top Rookies that MJ has had the last couple years. Not worth the cost.

Dave.

Yup, the box indicates that you will get 1 hobby pack. They are very well packed compared to previously which I am sure will get some folks.

I think they were $44 or something at my local walmart.

The thing that had me fooled was that the Upper Deck logo features prominently on the box itself and it is called 'Upper Deck Mystery Box'... it seemed purposefully misleading.

Bunch of junk like most other products sold these days. I miss the 90's when we'd get hobby boxes or good retail at any walmart, kmart, toys r us etc.

I tried one yesterday while in search of the new Parkhurst product. I probably had one of the better boxes, as my Mystery card was a 11/12 UD Day With The Cup Brad Marchand, and my final pack in the box from 15/16 Series 1 yielded me a Connor McDavid YG. :bliss:

Don't think I'll try anymore after seeing those "Top Rookies" double as the mystery card.

I grabbed a few the other day. One box was significantly heavier than the others. Had a sealed pack of Grandeur, the coin product. One of the 17/18 UD1 packs also had a Boeser YG. It's not worth gambling again, but it was fun opening a variety of packs.

The lack of UD logos on the wrapping is what kept me away. Staying far from this. If I’m UD, I’m pissed off about this packaging.

I wish I had read this before I got the urge to buy a box today at Walmart.
The packaging and box advertising is very misleading!

I would have just bought blasters but everything was sold out.

Let’s just say I got hosed badly, but hey it’s gambling.
Unfortunately, Two no-name young guns rookies was the highlight
