Another UD cut signature screwup?

Maybe it's time for Upper Deck to have some competition from a hockey card company who knows hockey and cares.

That's not Topps who gave up their license twice in last decade or Panini who makes great stickers.

Give us a chance to go head to head with UD on a level playing field and collectors will benefit.

It's about time.

Will you be able to use NHL logos if this happens? Also, when does the UD license expire?

Ohhhh we can dream can't we? :) :giggity:

Again.... more Q/C is needed. I think the simple solution is to HIRE more people with Sports knowledge preferably with hockey knowledge if they are going to be involved with a hockey product. It isn't like there is a shortage of people that would jump at the chance to work in the industry.

lol what does the back of the card say?

im guessin somethin along the lines of "this autograph is guarunteed to be signed by someone with the last name patrick, possibilities including but not limited to, buzz patrick, Lynn Patrick, Danica Patrick, Neil Patrick Harris Doogie Howser MD. We thank you for purchasing Upper Deck Products as we continue to get you as close to your favorite 80's Teenage doctor as possible"

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

You're preaching to the choir. Think you could make me a cut auto from this? (kidding) its the only Sawchuk auto I've ever seen in person.

Sadly, those of us who were expecting even a half-assed or blame-shifting response to this thread ... have overestimated.

I guess "no reply at all" is what we'll get.

When UD finds out about these type of problems the best thing that they could possibly do is to get the card off of the market as quickly as possible. Next go to who was in charge of that specific project at UD and give them a swift kick in the junk. It would be good for them to get that feeling as so many of us have had that very same feeling when dealing with their product.

In light of all the recent neagtive publicity the greater hobby has had in recent years with respect to authenticity, if any major media company were to become aware of this card, it would likely make the news and impact Upper Deck's reputation as a reputable company.

As Richard McWilliam signed off on this card, his public response to this (not Karvin, not Chris) should provide insight to his level of commitment to the hobby, to the integrity of his company's product and to the integrity of his own name.

What really irks me as a collector is that now, when my friends ask me how I know the memorabilia and autographs in my collection are real (and they ask me all the time), I have to say that I don't know.

It's funny how people who are not in the hobby question the authenticity of our collection and we as collectors *often* take the blind leap of faith and spend our good, hard earned money on this stuff.

Are we fools?

Integrity and McWilliam don't belong in the same sentence.
