Jeff Carter traded to LA

i don't watch many bj's games, but earlier this season Carter got a hattrick in the 1st period against my Preds (arguably the BJ's biggest rival). i was VERY impressed with how he played. the BJ's went on to blow the lead and lose however. i'm sure he is happy to be out of Columbus and their extreme culture of losing. i'm calling this one a draw. mutually beneficial.
 
Dustin Brown on the block now, would LOVE to see him skating on a line with Krejci and Lucic in black and gold.


PS: trading a 40 goal scorer for a minus machine (JMFJ) and a first has got to be a loss for CBJ. But they got rid of the contract, so its less of a loss.

i am sad - breaking up the core will set the Kings back and be the end of the DL era. not a happy day for me at all.

The core just isn't getting it done so you have to make a move. The kings need offense and if Carter puts up numbers we win. Richards will be stoked and I bet he plays way better.

IF, and its a big IF, their extra curricular activities don't become a problem.

I think the jackets GM does. That is why La threw in a first round. I get that plus minus isn't everything but when you are so consistent with a bad minus and all the other defenseman on the team don't it says something. -88 career is brutal.

There has to be a way to find out his influence, or lack thereof on goals allowed. If he's on the ice, in a vacuum, that means nothing. How many goals allowed did he effect in some way? That would be a meaningful stat, and one I would actually respect.

Richards and Carter reunited in LA!!!! Can you imagine the carnage that is going to go down at the clubs with all the women in that city!!!! Heeeyyyyy ooooooo!!! Let's see how long it takes them to get Doughty involved! I have a feeling LA will regret this trade down the road!!!!!
 
Johnson will be a true #1 d-man in this league. the only reason he was traded is because the Kings have Doughty. personally, i would rather trade Doughty and keep Johnson but what can you do?

it will be interesting to see which d-man ends up with the better career. all i know is Drew Doughty, at this point in time, is not worth $2.65M/year more than Jack Johnson. not even close.

if Jeff Carter can score 35 goals/year in L.A. then this trade will work out. but i honestly believe no player can score 35 goals/year in L.A. until the system changes.

here's my prediction...

the Kings trade Dustin Brown by Monday, the Kings miss the playoffs and they trade Kopitar in the offseason. Richards becomes the new captain and I find a new team.

but i'm an optimist :)

Doughty has been in the clubs for years - i'm sure he's been taking Richards around town.
