notice the cap still on the bottle. just sayin'.
Maybe he will be packaged to Toronto with Nash.
High Five Marko!!!
I think Toronto has plenty to get Nash. Gardiner, Kadri, Colborne, Schenn, another high pick when they miss the playoffs....
but CLM doesn't need Schenn or Gardiner. that's the point. they have enough to give up but does CLM want what they have?
Our whole back end is now comprised of a slew of puck moving defensemen. Other than Nikitin we don't have a big bodied defensive minded guy back there, and he's still developing. We still need a #1 or #2 guy like that.
that would be a LOT of salary in the back end.
starting next year...
Wiz - $5.5
Johnson - $4.35
Tyutin - $4.5 (wow, that's a lot for him)
Methot - $3
Clitsome - $1.25
Nikitin - RFA
i guess they could bring in Schenn, but...
1. which guy is out?
2. Schenn is $3.6 - do you really want to spend that much on your blue line?
although, if Howson can find a taker for Tyutin then Schenn works.
I don't think Clitsome is here after the deadline. John Moore has shown that he now belongs and has been progressing very well. He'll be a fixture on the blueline for years to come. There are also rumors that Methot is being looked at by other teams. He's out for the year with a broken jaw, but it's possible for him to be gone my training camp.
Nikitin will be resigned and paired with Tyutin. While I'm not a fan of Tyutin at all and think he's quite the pylon, him and Nikitin have been our best pairing when they were both healthy. From what I know, Nikitin speaks very little english and he has definitely flourished with a Russian across from him.
so right now the 6 that are playing as of the next game are?
Johnson
Wiz
Tyutin
Nikitin
Scott
Clitsome
so replacing Methot with Schenn would work, i guess.
do you think they will keep Nash? just wondering what a CBJ fan thinks.

Thats a big, I really don't know. I want him to stay, but once you start shopping a player as much as they are with him, it seems almost like he's gone. I don't think anything will happen with him by the trading deadline..
It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see JJ in Vancouver but it would be pretty tough to get him in with their cap space.
I was more wondering just based on what their commitment is to winning and how much a guy like that would want to stick around CBJ - and I would think that they could get a good return for him from a number of suiters.
Johnson when interviewed last night was very happy to be going to Columbus. What analysts are saying is that he really wants the chance to be a number 1 d-man. And has no problem playing in Columbus to try and prove himself to be worthy of that designation.
We'll see how it all plays out in the end.
brassard will probably be on the move, apprantly the habs are interested along with some other teams
